Expect to see people who were once in your shoes but would be acting like gods because you are now trying to be like them and they are going to be assessing you. Don't be afraid...be confident. The worst that can happen is for them to keep their job....period!

That’s not entirely true.
This is not a military setting where someone finishes training you and salute you after graduation and decoration.

Everyone is on their path. Sales, operations, control , IT, Compliance, General services, Legal etc. Just excel and join first, then keep excelling and follow your track.

Read about sterling Bank and what they are currently targeting to achieve. You must have the correct questions to ask when the time comes for you to ask them questions.

Your questions must focus on what the bank's strategies are and how they intend to achieve them. The questions you ask may be the thing that will distinguish you from other candidates. Your questions must be intelligent questions.

Have mastery of all the those "lies" and "achievements" you indicated on your CV. You must be ready to defend every skills and training you claimed to know and have attended. It is not uncommon for people to lie on their CVs and embellished them with lies, just know how to defend those lies.

Look smart and suave. Don't wear those boggy and oversized suites sold by those Mallams at Marina, go to idumota and get second hand Zara suite and give "Ndi Obioma" to mend it to be body fitted.

Don't take this opportunity for granted. Entering the banking sector as a graduate trainee is a dream of every graduate and it's an opportunity to set your career on a path of growth.

Congratulations on getting to this stage brother. You need not quiver much. It's an assessment stage, more like an online aptitude test. You'd be required to answer, I think, 60 questions in 15 minutes. Questions also involves a bit of logical reasoning.

You need not worry much. Your real preparation should be focused on the oral interviews.

Assessment center usually comes in the form of practical tests. Every candidate would probably be put into teams to work on scenarios together while being assessed from a distance. Things like how well you can work in a team, contribute to the success, take initiatives and the likes would be tested by merely looking at how you work with other team members.

There might also be need to make presentations, and possibly take some extra aptitude tests.

In all, try to be involved because that's the most important thing in an assessment center testing. Suggest certain initiatives like time keeping and volunteer to handle tasks in your team because those are the kind of things that count as taking initiative and responsibility. You can also volunteer to take down notes while the team deliberates. You can opt to take the presentation for your team or design PowerPoint slides.

Lastly, given all that I have said; don't over do it. Try to be as natural as possible.

Expect something like this :
1. What is it that appeals to you the most about this job?”

2. What do you love about our Organization ?

3. How do your role and team fit into the company and its goals?

4. What is it that appeals to you the most about this job?”
5. Look out for logical questions, reasoning etc

Eg. Statements: All mangoes are golden in color. No golden-colored things are cheap. Conclusions: All mangoes are cheap. Golden-colored mangoes are not cheap.

Eg. Statements: No women teacher can play. Some women teachers are athletes.
Conclusions: Male athletes can play. some athletes can play.

Eg. Q1. Look at this series: 12, 11, 13, 12, 14, 13, … What number should come next?

Think about how you will manage challenge and customer would not know there is one?

Think about taking critical decision, will you favour your bank or colleague?

Will you sacrifice your personal interest just for the bank to strike a business deal, knowing full well that bank do retrench staff?

What will you do when a colleague is planning to steal from the company?

What is your strength on this job?

Also think about things that you think would motive you for the job
