“They” always say that:
“What a man can do, a woman can also do it... Even better.”
But who are these “They” who always say that??
It's the women of course.
..
So, can the women truly do anything and everything which a man can do, not to talk of doing them better?
The answer is very obvious..
It's definitely not everything and anything which a man can do that a woman can do.
That is why men are there in order to do the things that men are supposed to do, and women are there in order to do the things that women are supposed to do.
..
Do men also say that “What a man can do, a woman can also do.”?
Most times, whenever a man says that, he is trying to prove a point in favour of gender equality.
But beyond the discuss of gender equality, the mantra definitely goes ahead to confuse the basic understanding about “Gender Identity”..
It makes one to see it like, women should leave some things which they are naturally good at (as women which they are, and as themselves in their various individual capacities) and start stressing themselves very hard in order to do things which men naturally do without having any stress.

..
Let nobody misunderstand my discussion.
If a woman can easily do some things which men are naturally known to be doing, then let her continue doing her thing.
..
..
To the Flip side of the discussion.
Can the men say the same thing about “What a woman can do...”??

In all sincerity, and without any bias, this is exactly what a man would say:
“What a woman can do, then let her continue doing it... Men should continue doing the things that men can do, and leave women to do their thing.”
Men are not really interested in trying to join women in doing the things of women, not to talk of outdoing them on that.
That's why men see fellow men who twerk or dance like women, or those who use lots of filters in photos as somehow inappropriate.
..
But women find this special joy in doing things that are associated with men. Some even feel it is a nice compliment when someone tells them that they behaved like a man at certain situations.
..
ALL THAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS THAT, THIS PARTICULAR EQUATION IS NOT BALANCED.
..
IT DIDN'T GO THE SAME WAY WHEN TAKEN FROM THE BOTH ENDS.

..
..
You can now see why there are serious frictions in some homes..

The woman of the house would be doing everything, both the things the man is supposed to do very easily.
And when she leaves some things undone (which definitely the man had not been doing, and thus he too left them undone), the woman would see it as a foul, as a big error on the man - that since she helped him out in doing some the things that he was supposed to do, that it was naturally expected of him too to help her out in doing some of her own things too.
But she forgot that: “That’s not how the men see such things”.

You have a point especially as the statement is not reversible........

The fact of the matter is women have the consciousness that men are better on a whole lots of things hence they compensated themselves with the statement.....men is the reference for efficiency and originality

Just take example of dancing prowess......either Micheal Jackson or James Brown will most likely be a reference point.............

Deep down, all women know they can't do everything men do.

They just say this to mask their feelings.

You tried to overanalyze something that's very simple...

The reason women said that... It's because women were told that we can do practically nothing...

Can't go to school...
Can't work...
Can't vote/be voted for... Etc...

Now, women do better in school...
Are qualified doctors and lawyers and politicians...
Women occupy positions once reserved for men alone and are doing better...
Women are breadwinners of their families... Etc...

Women can do anything a man can do... From CEOs, NASA scientists, Neurosurgeons... There's no field without a woman...

Next time, write an article on why men are great but black men aren't... This didn't make any sense

Man fucck woman but woman cannot fucck man. To fucck is to insert just like other animals do. Forget the usual narrative of we fuccked each other. If woman likes, she can be on top during sex but na still the man wey dey under dey press and suck breast dey do the fuccking.

I for one, I never ever believed that Women are nothing.
That's why I never saw any reason for the Mantra at first.
Please read the original post all over again, and please read to the end.
Habbbaaaa.!!
It is very obvious that you saw the topic, then read some few lines of the post, and rushed to reply.

Now, do a history research way-back to the time before the colonial era in a typical Igbo community.
Women were a very strong part of the society. Even the words of the First-born daughter (Ada-Nna) were first considered before the words of the First-born son (Diokpala), even when the Ada-Nna was the last baby of the house.
..
Women gather themselves in lots of strong groups (Umuada, Umuokpụ, Ndiinyom, and so on), and these women groups - no matter how many various groups they were - were all welcomed and well listened to; and their contributions in those days were well felt in the olden society.
..
So, apart from the fact that a married woman cannot get a share in the inheritance of her late father where the late father didn't give any share to her while he was still alive (which some married women in our modern times had already challenged many times in the courts), and that women are not allowed to speak in the gatherings of men, even though they can be present in such gatherings to represent their men in their absence - are there any other reasons why a woman in such a setting in the olden days would look herself finish and still regard herself as NOTHING??
..
Women are pushing the Mantra too far.
They are the ones over-flogging it.
..
Even in your explanation, you just assumed something that was never the case, just to prove a baseless mantra right..
..
About that last line of yours,, please google “great black men in history”.
If you meant “African Men”, then google “great black African men in history”.

Because if you did your atomic physics very well in your secondary school, you would have heard about Marie Curie..
Marie Curie was the only Human Being (both past and present) that had won a Nobel Prize in both Physics and Chemistry.
Browse about her, and you can tell me how many patents she had gotten for herself as a result of her numerous inventions and discoveries.

After all your rantings,, you landed at my exact point.
..
Men cannot and can never do what women do.
We accepted that fact since the time of the creation of this world.
..
..
Now, women cannot and can never do what men do.
What is so difficult in accepting that??
..
..
The things that both men and women can do, then let any of them do it.
Is there need for any baseless mantra??

A real life situation here.
..
The woman stays at home.
But the man takes the kids to school while going to work, and brings them back home everyday while coming back from work.
While the man prepares for work, the wife would prepare the kids.
..
After some time, the woman started bringing the kids home on her way back from buying the things they needed in the house.
And she counted it as more added work to herself, and she started demanding that since she usually feel so tired and drained-out after tending to the kids when they returned from school until evening time where the husband returns, that the husband should also be helping in preparing them every morning.
..
Such request got to the husband as a rude request.
It became an issue that was treated in a public meeting.

This scenario get as e be abeg. And it does not really connect to the "What a man can do, a woman can do better" mantra you started your thread off with, so it is kind of hard to digest it as such. undecided

Instead here you have a possible case of a woman struggling to keep up with demands of having to get the kids ready each morning and instead of asking for help from her spouse with that, sought to take over part of the half of her husband's regular chore so he can help her with hers. undecided

Seems there major issue had to do with communication and a husband and wife team ought to make themselves flexible enough in order to see their team work no matter situation. undecided

Stop making mockery of yourself trying to prove a baseless point... entertainment is a profession and lots of thing have been invented to make entertainment seemless for both the performer and enjoyable to the audience.
