Remember Kyari is allegedly on suspension, so I see him handling them to The NDLEA as kind of catching a "cheap glory" that he still possesses the intelligence of a good police officer, he wanted to please "two masters" - cash out from the alleged pushers by getting some of the substance as well as perform the duty of a good police officer. If he had handled the case without inviting The NDLEA which he could, he might not have been in this current mess.

There are things I simply can't post here for security reasons. But trust me, he has been nailed. If he's not picked up, the it means he's cut a deal with the authorities backstage. Maybe a deal to give up his comrades.

Kyari was not fighting for the release of the arrested couriers. He only approached the ndlea officers to cover his own crime up.

He seized 25kg of cocaine, sold 15kg off and replaced the sold part with powder. He wanted an insider that will only test the remaining genuine cocaine and sign off the fake powder as part of the genuine to still get the 25kg already declared seized. That was why he marked the genuine pack with red dots.

Why not just remove the 15kg at the point of arrest and handover 10kg to NDLEA as the quantity seized.
