Your RM's recommendation for promotion is basically just that: Recommendation. Management consider a lot of issues and cost before promoting senior staff so this may well take long in coming. The same RM should transfer those six senior people to other regions so that you can effectively control those under your supervision

Look at the positive side of things, since they are not happy with you; they will tend to look for your faults and errors and magnify them or use them to seek your downfall.

Congratulations Op, if i may advise you, try using emails for your official communication with anyone you're dealing with and ensure your superiors are copied in your mails to them this might save you alot especially on the reports you expect them to be sending. Have a discussion with the management on this your experience and maturity is being put to test.

Congrats on your promotion bro. My advice to you is that you don't request their reports verbally, send them official emails with target dates. It's no insult but will put them back on track.

Let us assume that this your story is not a fiction(which it likely is), you claim to have been promoted over six superiors based on "job performance" which is probably a big fat lie. More likely, you have familiarity with the powers that be in that institution, one way or another and has nothing to do with imagined ability. Being more capable than one of those superiors? Not impossible. Being more capable than 6 of them in a row? Bullshit!!

What happen if a Captain or a Major overthrow a sitting Head-of-State or President through a coup? Well the first thing to do, is to promote himself to the highest rank.
Since you cant promote yourself, then give yourself a mental promotion.
You don't have to be rude about it but just be blunt and don't engage in any hearsay with any of them. Google as much as possible to find solution to any situation instead of going to any of them for answers.
Place them in their right shoes, start seeing yourself as a new recruit and erace every past you have spent with them.

You heard where the OP said they lobbied to get to those positions, the regional manager must have seen that they are incompetent at their jobs and the OP delivers at the job more than these people. If you don’t want to ruin a company, it obvious you would want someone who can deliver irrespective of their previous positions
