EDUCATION, YOUTH AND UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA
An investment in knowledge pays the interest says an American Polymath, Benjamin Franklin.
As some of Nigerians believe that education is the mirror of life but aforementioned quotes said investment in knowledge pays the best interest but the tune has changed as many Nigerians Youths describe education to be scam.
When the kid started going to school; the rhythm of you are the future of tomorrow continually recited by teacher and the foundation is faulty. Where is the kid that sang the tomorrow leader song? Her they remains with the sound? Can we blame the government or our young once even the education system?.

If the Architectural design and building Engineer failed to work on house structure before commenced the building, perhaps they should be agreed to accepting any negative result from their engagement. Nigeria Government have negligence the portion of making education as arm of trounce criminality and poverty level in the State.
The Nigerian first elected President, Late Alhaji Shehu Shagari introduced our current system of education which 6-3-3-4 with the primary focus of meeting the educational needs of it citizenry and equipping the youths with sellable skills that will make them to be self-reliant. However the 6-3-3-4 means six years in primary educational school, Three years for Junior Secondary another Three years for Senior Secondary while established Four years for Tertiary education but 39 years after the system, does our education changed the nation to good or stagnated our development?
The highest level of unemployment for graduate and trained youth in Nigeria as started created a new thought in mind of those acclaimed education as trail to exposure and excellence in life. The Ghanaian Diplomat, Kofi Annan in his words saying knowledge is Power and information is liberating but why the knowledge fell to knight youth that struggle for it, even the uneducated youths currently in Nigeria were liberated than literate and those well informed about knowledge of self-creativity.
Can our primary core of education be restored? Although in past years those accepted education as mirror to unveils power and knowledge to progressive their home. Job and productivity were reigned during their Era before you graduate an organization have already employed you but where is the work’s and where is the literates youth? The green pastures of Nigeria education as started drying.
The Majority of Nigerian Parents agreed with Kofi Annan on his thought as he said “The premise of progress in every society and in every family is education; they even forced their children since their kid age to have best education but in these era of 21 Century a lot of parent expecting their graduated child to provide something tangible for them when the graduating one could not defend their certificate s. Who to be blame?
The School curriculum should not just be about science, Technology and mathematics among others but include critical thinking and entrepreneurship saying Nigeria Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Meanwhile, currently Nigeria government agencies of tertiary institutions have introduced entrepreneurship as part of courses and programmes offered by Higher Institutions but where is the enabling environment for all young entrepreneurs to thrive? Even are they have intended to engage in self-confidence.
The ambition of office jobs as made many Nigerian youths to remained under the queue of unemployment when they supposed to create and identified an opportunities to innovating of having their own offices. If those shunned the power of education amongst the youth can now knight with wealth while educated one still digging for money. Where is the power of knowledge?
The daily increased of Higher Institutions in Nigeria for both Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges and others with vision of changing of our status from poor to great does not achieved. Because where is the students or where is the Lecturers? And what are they used their knowledge to create and solved? Education of not added valuable impact to society or Community it same with a pilot that refuse to performed it task.
Nigeria have Universities and Polytechnics of Agriculture yet food scarcity and food insecurity it challenge we discussed every year. How many food were they provided to reducing our obstacle of food scarcity?.
Government of Nigeria must changed their redefined of Abraham Lincoln definition of democracy from government by the Leaders to their families and for their followers to the first way.
If their wards can leave Nigeria to pursue their academic goal in foreign countries. They supposed to find resolution to our poor academic system in Nigeria too. Nigeria Youths must also ready to embrace creativity and critical thinking patterns as pillar of making future Leaders of self-employed.
Introduction of entrepreneurship by government without availability of financial aided can hinder Nigerian Youths ambition of overcoming unemployment. Government need to uses National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as scheme of reduction unemployment via increasing their monthly entitlement even empowering them with start-up fund while finishing their Service.
Build the Youth and Nigeria will been peaceful and develop than other strive Africa Countries.
