Dear Nairalanders. I am married to a French Lady from a Francophone African country. She and the kids left for France years back.
Presently, I am planning to relocate to France to join them but I am worried because I don't speak french. I don't want to take my wife's word for it because she might reply me out of emotion. I want to hear from neutral minds.

How easy is it to get a job in France for an English speaker. I wouldn't want to get there and be jobless and then be a liability to anyone.

Please are there Nairalanders in France who don't speak French? How are you managing? Thanks

I think I have got no other choice. It seems there are not much Nairalanders living in France.

I'm not claiming to be an expert. Just some general advice.

1. French isn't hard to learn. And if you actually make a real effort, a year of immersion will have you pretty strong in the language. This guy has great videos: https://youtube.com/c/imagiers

2. No matter where you go in the world, they need tradesmen. Are you handy? Can you drywall? Fix cars? Do you have an engineering degree? This can potentially get you into contracting.

3. Are you willing to be a truck driver? It's easy to get into. The work is steady, and the salary viable.
