A massive storm christened ‘Eunice’ has ripped the roof of the famous O2 Arena in Southeast London.

The wind, garnering up to 122mile per hour in some locations, is currently wreaking havoc all over England, disrupting power supply to millions of homes, as power lines were brought down.

Eunice smashed a tree into the front of a double-decker bus and turned a truck on its side in a series of incidents earlier today.

The O2 Arena hosts hundreds of huge events all year round. The building, formerly known as the Millennium Dome, also houses restaurants, bars, shops and a cinema.

Nigeria’s most prominent entertainers, such as D’banj, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido have performed at this iconic event centre.

The severe weather conditions, which sparked two rare red weather warnings, include “danger to life” cautions about the risk of “flying debris”.

Some roads have been shut across the UK, and airports have cancelled hundreds of flights amid the chaos.

Forecasters had initially issued amber warnings for wind – but upgraded the warning to red following the destruction caused by Storm Dudley on Wednesday.

The two red warnings for wind are in force for southern England – one covering the southeast from Ipswich to Portsmouth, including London, and the other stretching from Cardiff down to the furthest tip of Cornwall.

Experts warn Brits to stay at home as Storm Eunice is projected to pose a risk to life today Friday, 18.

Killer speed of 122mph was recorded in the Isle of Wight this morning, said to be stronger than the Great Storm of 1987 when 18 people were killed.

Today’s gales are believed to be the highest ever recorded in England, with only two stronger gusts in Scotland in 1989 and 1986.

About 55,000 homes, farm and businesses are without power in Ireland this morning while another 85,000 houses were left in the dark across England and Wales.

London City Airport has cancelled all flights until 4.30 pm, while a large number of flights have been cancelled at London Heathrow.
