Jagunlabiodua: 1) you are a kid who is very unintelligent. 2) show me proof of the emperor being from ife which was a small village until 1912! Whereas Benin was already an empire in the 1400's 3) the thing is you confuse your yoruba dogma with reality and you try to impose your yoruba fantasies about my people on my people. You yoruba have no real history, your ancestors migrated from Brazil where they were slaves ! 4) your entire fairytale-history revolves around claiming Benin, claiming the Oba of Benin... 5) and you believe you know my history better than me ! Look, you are supposed to learn my history from me ! Not teach me my history ! How fools whom have never set foot on Benin soil believe they know Benin history better than Edos and want to teach it to Edos ? You are deluded. For the last time, we are not yoruba ! Leave us alone ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0f53aYJElw These crazy yoruba: "our mythologies claims you guys are yoruba, therefore you are yoruba and you must accept" |

Just to re-establish the truth, because too much nonsense gets written by tribal biggots on nairaland: 1) ogiso, igodomigodo, oduduwa, orammiyan are fairytales, they were created in littérature by politically motivated revisionists. They belong to the world of the imaginary, not to reality. 2) Benin was an empire and its capital is called Benin city 3) oyo was never an empire, oyo was a small and weak kingdom which got soundly defeated by the fulani. 4) there is no historical relationship between Benin and Ife 5) most of the people who call themselves yoruba today are not actual yoruba, they are either Brazilian slaves, or dahomians, or jebu or oyos (true yoruba) or .... All these groups are unrelated. https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b8595583b.r=Benin?rk=150215;2 https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b530530714

That is a big Fat lie Yoruba does not argue about Hausa history or Igbo history or Ijaw history but we argue about you Benins because you are a sub group of Yoruba, you are not separated by ocean or sea with the Yorubas, infact it will take 10minutes to walk from Yorubaland to Benin. in the Benin republic they are speaking Yoruba with Yoruba OBAs, then one Benin kingdom who speaks polluted dialect of yorubadoid language thinks the whole world came from Benin kingdom when his Oba is from Ife. Let me advice you don't give yourself high BP over Yoruba claim over Benin, the history of Ile-ibinu is in the palace of ile-ife go there you will see 2-3000 yrs history of relationship between Yoruba and Benin. A royal rivalry caused the narrative war between the OBAs because it's a matter of Ego who is superior and who is junior. During the Civil War it was Yoruba soldiers who took Western Nigeria and destroyed Biafra at Ore, Benin, Warri, Asaba ore which the Boarder of Mid West and West. The Mid-west was captured the people subdued, women, men, girls ran and rushed to the West Yorubaland this is war remember war crimes against deluded Benins were comitted and Biafra soldiers had no mercy. You couldn't run to North or East. The North couldn't have saved you it was the Neighbors Yorubas that mobilize forces and entered Mid-west now Biafra and restored the fallen And captured Benins. If you were in Western Nigeria Biafra would never have captured you just as they couldn't capture the West. Ghostwon6512: |

It seems most yoruba need history lessons, they don't even know their history but want to tell other people those people's history. To yoruba, history is just a propaganda for politics, they don't really care about the truth, they care about creating a perception. This is why yoruba lie so much, the truth has no value for yoruba and it doesn't matter at all. |

Jagunlabiodua: I'm tired of talking to you, you just keep repeating your lies and fake reasoning like a broken record. So now you also claim Ife has a 2300 year record of Benin history: just one problem though, our ancestors couldn't write or read, writing was brought to our region by Europeans whose first contact with us was in the 1400's. You are just not smart enough to know this. You are a fanatic kid who believes all the lies your yoruba elders have told you. Just tell me what kind of magic made the "yoruba" access written form of language more than 2000 years before it arrived in the region ? You keep claiming easily debunked stories of "yoruba soldiers liberated Midwest"...who did this to you that your brain seems dead, I know the Nigerian army led by two Edo officers liberated the Midwest, everybody knows it, it is on record, that is a quite recent event, but somehow, you believe you can lie about that. Your Yorubaland is in Brazil where your ancestors were slaves before they were transported to our land just like the Liberians and Sierra Leonians were transported to where they are today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0f53aYJElw Also your reasoning of: "some people in Benin Republic speak yoruba, therefor Benin kingdom is yoruba" just shows how incredibly dumb you are. Just some information about Benin Republic: Benin Republic changed its name from Dahomey to Benin Republic in the 1970's, it copied our name, not the reverse, also why did nobody copy the name of Ife ? Why copy the name of Benin whereas the so called yoruba are much closer to Benin Republic ? Historical parasites trying to devour Benin history, that is what you are. 1 Like |

I'm telling you about Yoruba Africa history you are showing an old European world map. Do you think the current world map is accurate? You were colonize and created on those maps. The days I speak there were no maps or ink or paper. The days of the gods there were no Europeans or slave trading. Note this are histories of 4000_3000yrs. Benin itself is a Yoruba word. It was corrupted by Portuguese. Anyway no one is claiming you just telling you history at our disposal. There is nothing desirable about Benin to want to be associated with or claim is it cultism, prostitution and other vices are what Benin are known for, what Yoruba just keep telling you people is always watch your backs when fighting the Yorubas so you don't destroy yourselves because your Geography in Nigeria defines you as Yoruba Territory. If Nigeria is to be Hausa Igbo and Yoruba. Ghostwon6512: |
Re: 2023: Igbo Presidential Aspirants Vow Not To Step Down by Nobody: 1:23pm On Feb 22, 2022 |
Jagunlabiodua:Actually those maps predate colonisation. You are a total ignoramus, you know nothing you talk about. I don't believe you have finished secondary school, you know absolutely nothing, yet you are seeking to spread your thoughts which are nothing but ignorance. You actually don't understand what the word "history" stands for, you are telling stories, not history. History is based on eyewitness written records, all you say is based on nothing. Just empty fairytales. To discuss history, you need to quote documents like the maps which I shared. It seems I am giving yet an other deluded yoruba a free quality lecture in history. Also the fact you think "an old European world maps" is irrelevant to history shows your stupidity, you think it is new documents which better describe the past ? Are you 12 years old ? So someone born 200 years from now would be better suited to talk about your life experience than you ? |
Re: 2023: Igbo Presidential Aspirants Vow Not To Step Down by Jagunlabiodua: 1:31pm On Feb 22, 2022 |
Those were slave trade route and who told you Yorubas were thought how to read and write by the Europeans? Are you deluded or what? So it was Europeans that thought Yorubas bronze and iron casting? Ok history started from 1800? You lack native history, Yoruba had been existing and had their own civilization before Europeans came here indace when Europeans came to Yorubaland they were shocked by the knowledge and development of the Yorubas and this over 5000yrs ago. Go to IFE, go and study at Obafemi Awolowo university and learn history Ghostwon6512: |
Re: 2023: Igbo Presidential Aspirants Vow Not To Step Down by Nobody: 1:36pm On Feb 22, 2022 |
Jagunlabiodua: 1)You clearly don't see the difference between having a past and having history. 2) everything on this world and beyond has a past ! But not everything has a history ! 3) again, history is about eyewitness written records, which yoruba don't have (except slavery in Brazil) ! But Benin does have that of an empire. 4) so you believe, yoruba had a written language of their own ? Your stupidity is beyond what I thought. 5) why do you just keep making assumptions ? The maps which I posted have nothing to do with slavery and your claim is totally irrelevant to the discussion anyways. 6) you just keep making bigger and bigger claims backed by nothing but your mouth, now the 5000 years claim...is this just ignorance, stupidity, delusion or just compulsive lying ? I really wonder: Egypt has the longest history in the world (around 5000 years), europe's history is around 2000 years, Chinese history is around 3000 years, but I guess yoruba somehow have a tie with Egypt...funny how the rest of the world missed this and only yoruba know about it. Yoruba delusions of grandeur are just amazing. When the gods have decided to curse somebody, they first make him mad. |

Your education is a waste so you thought history started from the Europeans and Egyptian. You definitely know nothing about how the present world came to be. You think 5000 yrs ago Egyptians and Chinese were existing then the Black man Yoruba were not. Your education brainwashed you. Benin is a colony of the Yorubas hope you don't mistake Benin Edo state for Benin empire it would be like comparing Benin republic to Benin Edo state now ask yourself what's the relationship between Benin republic and Edo state, do you speak Benin in Benin republic? Or Yoruba? The Word Benin is a Yoruba word, Oba is a Yoruba word, Benin Oba is a Yoruba Oba this is even recognized by the British during Independence . Also Yoruba had their own written language before the Europeans came, there is a lot of history predating the Europeans there was a time the Africans ruled as kings of Europe for over 700yrs. You only know European history, Europe only got ahead of Africans after discovering the Steam Engine and physics which is recent 300-400yrs ago Ghostwon6512: |

I am not going to have a non-ending discussion with a fanatical 13 year old who knows absolutely nothing and shows great signs of delusion and dementia. Everybody who reads your comments know you are deluded, I don't need to say it. You have no logic, no knowledge of history and you don't even understand the very concept of history. You wouldn't even qualify to be a pupil of a student of mine. Keep repeating yoruba fanataisy about Benin even after it is proven false in front of your underperforming brain. I'm done talking to fanatical braindead teenagers. Jagunlabiodua: 1 Like |

Deadlytruth:I couldn't agree more with you, even as a Yoruba man myself, thanks for schooling that ignoramus Jagunlabiodua. He must be one of those gullible Yorubas I've always spoke about, who see Igbos as their friends despite glaring evidence to the contrary. My people are are obviously under a spell(for the lack of words) because I can't fathom why anyone would continue playing the big brother role to someone who despise you, and doesn't hide it, yet you keep extending hands of fellowship. One of these foolish Yorubas even went as far as starting a GoFundMe campaign for Peter Obi, and I asked myself, who bewitched us? Will we ever learn lessons? Why are Yorubas so carefree and nonchalant to see that Igbos are our number one enemies? I worked with men from the SE for many years in the same office and I can say it without mincing words that the hate transcends just nairaland or online trolling as some kids would make us believe. An Igbo man will become governor of Lagos State one day with the way Yorubas have been sleeping on the bicycle, I really hope we retrace our steps soon but I doubt it because most of my kinsmen just have eyes but cannot see. |

PDPdestroyer: I have been emphasizing that if, by design or by accident, an Igbo man succeeds Buhari, that is when some of these shortsighted and shallow thinking Yorubas you described above will understand that Igbos don't really hate Hausafulanis as they currently pretend to, and the Igbo president will never use state power to fight Hausafulanis despite all their present cries and allegations of misgovernance and marginalization against Fulanis. Rather it is Yorubas they will use that state power to fight and pull down to total irrelevance. If Zik could use the little power he had as Ceremonial head of government to instigate Ahmadu Bello to so pummel Yorubas to the extent of not minding seeing Awolowo rot away in jail, then one can only imagine how terrible it will be fior Yorubas if an Igbo man gets hold of raw executive state power. The problem actually is that most of these indomie generation Yoruba youths know nothing about pre-independence and First Republic political history. Same with our Edo youths of age 35 down. The latter are even worse as they don't read at all but see everything in Nigerian politics from the narrow tube of the Jonathan's self inflicted 2015 defeat. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Igbo will and can never rule over Yorubas it will never happen. The only thing Igbo want to use power for is to opress the Yorubas, take Lagos, install their governor, wishful dreams, The Edo's are part of those sabotaging Yorubas in Nigeria. They are trival and not strategic but I feel Buhari has opened everyone's eyes now. The Benin guy contesting history with me is a school pupil. Simple question he can't answer do they speak Yoruba or Edo in Benin republic. Benin does not start and end in Edo state. Deadlytruth: |
