A major good news for the e-hailing driver -partners in lagos and Abuja as one of the major ride hailing platforms in Nigeria just announced that it is cutting down its commission being charged on it platform to 20% for ONLY driver-partners in Lagos and Abuja starting Thursday 24th of February 2022. The American company Uber which started its operations in the Nigerian e-hailing market as a pioneer on July 23 2014 had always maintained a service commission of 25% as against that of their major competitor Bolt Nigeria, formerly Taxify, which stood at 20% as at the time of filling this report.
This is coming few days after some aggrieved members of the driver-partners under the aegis of e-hailing driver-partners association took to the streets with placards to protest what they described as the unfair treatment of their members as regards several issues such as driver ratings, activity scores on the app, rider profiling and driver compensations. The aggrieved members marched to the office of Bolt Nigeria in Lekki Lagos to register their grievances. Read full story here:
