Consensus is part of the bill sir!

Not the consensus of old where some bigwigs meet and decide.. This time it is the aspirants that bought forms that we agree to a consensus

However I see Mr president sending in a amendment bill which may capture that issue because as it is now, consensus is dead on arrival

He knows that without the removal of mandatory direct primary he won't be able to put his successor and also he can control the delegates that will vote in his candidate. Nice one

Mandatory direct primary as the only option is illegal and a breach on party principles

Buhari will have his candidate whichever way and whatever laws that applies.. It is winning in the larger society with this law that is a challenge

It means Presidential primaries are most likely to be conducted using INDIRECT mode …..because Consensus don get K leg now since every presidential aspirant must agree in writing before a Consensus candidate can emerge.
This is good for Nigerian democracy. No more Buhari anointed somebody…..the people or their representatives must now choose!

Sir, Buhari just gave APC a new chairman by just gathering the governor's

As their convention draws close some aspirant will even see it that they are headed no where Nad drop out.. Some will do it on the convention grounds

Right now he has taken over the entire structure of his party through proxies and already dictating who is going to be what are the centre... It is through those structures that delegstes, apart from statutory ones, are selected or picked

There are many ways for politicians to achieve what they want. The president and his men have thought about it and devised ways to make up for such a situation where consensus fail. If it comes to indirect primaries, they are game because their strategies have been mapped out already. There are many ways to skin a cat in our corrupt political system.

Mediocre journalism. ChannelsTV rushed to announce the signing of the billi without bothering to explain what’s in the bill, why the president refused to sign it and what made him finally sign it.

True, but don’t forget that the House of Reps members (360 of them) are also going to be delegates…not just governors or those that can be teleguided by Buhari. The House of Reps inserted that Clause that every aspirant must agree in writing for a genuine Consensus to take place!
How did Obasanjo lose his third term bid?….they sabotaged it at the National Assembly. The President does not always have his way!
Even, the Party positions that he virtually dictated is already being questioned openly by some aspirants who said they have been campaigning for the past one year….they can still throw a spanner in the works at the Convention venue!

Be the first to know that all the Aspirants will step-down for his anointed candidate.

As for the NASS, they won't all vote in one direction.... Interest and who is going to supervise your election.. Buhari.. Will be a key factor for them

All the aspirants will step down….are you joking? Some people will rather die than do that. Some of the Presidential aspirants fought IBB and his brother Abacha to a standstill….so Buhari’s partisanship means nothing to them. Nigerians are no longer thinking like people living in a banana republic. You saw how the CSO just went on protest to force the signing of the Electoral Amendment Bill into law……the guy was vacillating and was not willing to sign but he had to in the end…otherwise the veto would have been countered. Just keep watching the movie!

Finally, smart card readers are recognized by law,.meaning that if u don't have a PVC or ur PVC is not read by the machine u cannot vote, the result will also now be transmitted electronically from the polling unit where result is declared to INEC central server where nobody can manipulate figures or write results that he wants. Again, excessive thumb printing and criminal stuffing of ballot boxes with criminally thumb printed ballot papers is over, a polling unit cannot return more votes than total number of voters whose PVC were read by the Smart card readers.
This is a heavy blow to election rigging in Nigeria. Tell the politicians that rigging and result manipulation is over, every vote will now count.
are you talking of Nigeria or Niger republic they will spend millions of dollars to invite guru that will hack the software.

Only to come back here in few months or years to start disturbing our ears of how bad our govt is.

Vote wisely this time ooo! Don't vote for an idiot because he belong to ur ethnic group or religion oo!. Vote for a clear headed person that has a clear cut program on how to tackle the various economic/social problems in the country .
Stay away from fanatics and embrace someone that is liberal at heart with empathy for the masses . Vote wisely this time oo!
Our SW people ,hope Una dey hear ?
Our SE people, hope Una dey hear?
Our northern guys..hmmm!! May affliction not strike the Second time ooo . Sey you all can see that is not by voting in a fanatic from Ur region that will solve the heightened insecurity and hunger in the land?. Rather it became worse under a retired general leadership..pls be warned oo! Vote wisely .
Stay away from Fulani sympathisers and any religious fanatic .They bring nothing progressive to the table .Their thought are rather archiac & retrogressive in nature, which breed nothing but violence.
May God make us make the right decision this time .

Honestly, both CSOs, many Nigerian citizens and elites have very poor knowledge of governance including the pretentious ones claiming capacity to rule Nigeria. This is the same mistake APC did before coming to power. Do u think it works the way most people see things by assumption?
He had to scrutinize the contents of the act very well before signing it, that is why he asked them to delete some portion of it and amend the act. We need to start using brain than emotion!
