Answer This Simple Question Before Blaming Russia For Attacking Ukraine by oritameta(m): 1:16am On Mar 02, 2022 |
The question is this: How would the United States react if Russia was about deploying ballistic missiles capable of easily reaching major cities in the United States in Mexico? A quick throwback to 1962 gives us a glimpse of how the US would react. After US deployed weapons to Italy and Turkey, the Soviet Union (Moreless Russia today) contacted Cuba (another enemy of the US) and set up the same type of weapons within Cuba. War nearly broke out. They both had to come to an agreement. Fast forward to the present day. Russia has been very vocal about not wanting NATO close to its border. Russia sees Ukraine's attempt to join NATO as a security threat and the latter's insistency is why Russia attacked. Is there a better way to handle the dispute without invading Ukraine? That's a tough one to answer. Again, how would the United States react if tomorrow morning Russia and Mexico agree to have Russia deploy ballistic missiles facing the United States in Mexico? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kzjouszy0c |
