All this cowboy attitude in someone's else firm will create future problem for you, except you don't need reference, you can go ahead and slap your director. You may not always have it your way. I went to my director's office to get something from the secretary, i met the presence of a lot of people including a visitor, so i left.

While going he called me back infront of everybody and said didn't you see me?

I answered by saying how? he said, so you can't greet me? I now told him but i greeted you earlier on while you were outside but you never answered.

Then he said that means you didn't open your mouth loud enough. I replied by saying sir, even if i don't greet you, my mind might be somewhere else, then he said why will your mind be somewhere else, your mind must always be here.

I said it is not possible for my mind to always be here sir.

That was all and the following day, i received a letter of suspension without querry. I was asked to sign the letter but i refused and i told the secretary that before i leave all my outstanding salaries should be paid to me. But they refused saying until i finish my 4weeks suspension, I refused and then threatened them with legal action.

Then I received this text today.

It seems you have more than work relationship with this your boss.

If not for this poor economy of Nigeria, Your director should be called for harassment. It is so bad that directors who are not the owner of company demand greetings or they will threatened to terminate someone employment if they are not greeted like a chief or an oba. Small power and they start acting as god, my guy - If I was you , I will start looking for other options to get out- I will go on my knees and keep praying to God while I look for employment elsewhere. Consider this suspension letter as a pre sack letter coming in the future, I pray that your Director is being called to order for the nonsense he or she displayed. I pray God intervene on your behalf , all the rest I wish you the best

You are about to be unemployed, I know to you the outstanding arrears seems alot now right ? I'd give you a few months when Nigeria's economy has burned through that and whatever savings you have had then reality would set in.

He threatened legal action when he has no money. Does he know how much it takes to handle a case, the likelihood of losing the case and even if he wins, he may not be paid anything by the company.

in as much as I don't support your director, but simple apology would have prevented this issue. Why are arguing and exchanging words with him. I don't know the type Job you are doing .May be it easy to get the job somewhere or you are hot cake in field .
