Nigerians Living At Home Look Better Than Those Raised Abroad by flowerpower23(f): 7:30pm On Mar 04, 2022 |
Hello I am a Nigerians raised abroad and I can't help but notice that Nigerians raised at home tend to look better than those raised abroad. To demonstrate I would like to compare Raised in the USA (Yvonne Orji) Raised in Nigeria (Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie) Do you all agree? 1 Like |

Beauty is not about location. Learn to differentiate between beauty and upbringing. Your comparison makes no sense. 13 Likes 1 Share |

I think location may play a part in this case. Remember Nigeria is the natural home for Nigerians so I feel the Nigerian Sun is perfectly suited for us. Abroad the cold environments may have harsh effects on a people who were meant to languish under the Nigerian sun if you know what I mean. Colder environments I don't think are good for Nigerians. flowerpower23: Hey lady, you're mixing things up. These two ladies you're comparing are different in terms of beauty! You're using Yvonne's ugliness to judge the beauty of the whole Black populace abroad? All what you wrote are wrong. So Nigerians are better under the hot sun? They deserve to languish? Haven't you seen tons of Nigerian migrants abroad that their skin color became more glowing and appealing ever since they left Nigeria? Why don't you just relocate to the Northern region of Nigeria since your conclusion is that the high temperature is more better for an African? 11 Likes |

Its not just the beauty I'm comparing but some other things. Look closely at Yvonne, Even though she is younger than Chimamanda, her skin looks less vibrant. Chimanda's skin looks radiant. Also if you look closely, Yvonne has lines around her mouth area that Chimamanda does not have. I think that has something to do with living in the cold environment and not getting proper intake of vitamin D which is known to strengthen bones and make the skin more supple. These are just my observations MufasaLion: |
Re: Nigerians Living At Home Look Better Than Those Raised Abroad by MufasaLion: 8:25pm On Mar 04, 2022 |
flowerpower23: There are many reasons for a skin to look less vibrant. Also, the lines you mentioned are called Nasolabial Folds and they are even caused by high exposure (not less exposure to sunlight as you've claimed/suggested) to sunlight and many other things. 3 Likes |

Well I was just throwing the weather out as a possible reason. You're right it may not be that. But either way I have noticed that Nigerians in Nigeria tend to look better than those raised abroad and I wonder why. MufasaLion: 1 Like |

flowerpower23: Weather might be part of it but you shouldn't capitalize on it. Osas Ighodaro was born in the U.S. and visited Nigeria 2 years after winning Miss Black USA. She was pretty and looking good then before she even came to Nigeria and stayed back ever since. Sophie Okonedo is of Nigerian descent and she was pretty in her early years. She should be in her 50s now. Also, in the second paragraph of your first post, "Nigerian" shouldn't be in plural (Nigerians). 1 Like |

You're right about Osas. She is stunning. Funny enough, when I saw her, I thought she had been raised in Nigeria. Thats how much I believe there is a certain look that those in Nigeria have opposed to those raised abroad. Osas may just be the exception. The nasolabial folds thing is interesting because here in abroad alot of Nigerians have very prominent ones. Doesn't always make the person unattractive persay but I think I prefer the look without it . Here's some more examples of Nigerians raised abroad with these traits. flowerpower23: Well, nasolabial folds are cool on some people and it ain't on some. I'd prefer a lady with less of it. I was asked to register on that forum you sent before I could havw access to the pictures. Can you send it to my mail then? |
