I believe you mean "Ukrainians were also part of the USSR that fought against the Germans" yes am aware.

Afghanistan was completely engolfed by mountain, while a large portion of Vietnam was forested. The Vietnamese and Aghans were fighting under familiar terrain which the Americans and soviets were not used to and that was a huge advantage to them.

Ukraine do not have that kind of terrain, the Russians know the Ukrainian terrain very well because they have been neighbours for ages, The Ukrainian resistance would collapse soon when the Russians start using saturation bombing.
