Injuries occur during fight with a stronger opponent.

It's scripted.... some acts aren't fake though.....

It is scripted and scriptwriters are paid to write each episode. The injuries are real because it happens in realtime. Wrestlers are billed to lose some matches and same goes with winnings to make it align with the story lines just like your regular tv series. Sometimes those billed to win might get heavily injured during the match, and to ensure the script continued a second wrestler will come and disrupt the match. Some are stopped by the ref by hitting the first and second count on the body of the wrestler billed to win to create a kickout reflex.

Watch channel 128 on DSTV it is dedicated to Wrestling and interview of WWE stars and they will tell you how the show happens. Remember it is entertainment not war, so the aim is to make money and minimise death or deadly injuries which sometimes occur.
