My brother-in law has this neighbour where he lives in Lagos. The son of the house effectively runs everyone else.
He's done so well for himself as a Yahoozey that everyone is in his pocket. He's got exotic cars (Range Sport, GL550, and a couple of other nice looking babies) parked in front of their flat. Jets in and out of Naija at will, while still in uni (one of those state unis around).

What would you as a parent tell such a person, seeing as you've lived all your life and raised your kids from hand to mouth, and he is basically your only ticket to 'enjoyment'?

Apologize to your son for not been their for him.
Encourage him to be hardworking and give examples of men who made it through sincerity and hard-work.

Always draw him close and make him relevant in the family.
