So in ur conclusion all Governor's and deputy Governor seeking re-election should first of all resign from being an incubent before participating in primary election?? Just like saying Gov. Oyetola should resign before participating in the past primary..

So who would now be the Governor wen he resigned??

U now see why the law avoided Elected officer. cool

I also don't see the justification of demanding a political appointed to resign before contesting for primaries within his political party. You might as well ask all civil servant to resign before they also can contest primaries, as they all work under the executive. Why only target political appointees of the executive? If you say the election proper, I will agree but primaries is unfair. The political space should be widened instead of narrowing it. This law seem targeted at a few individuals to eliminate them from the primaries.

It is always good to consider common sense before vomiting rubbish comments.

Elective offices have constitutionally specified and guaranteed tenor, unlike political appointments ,that do not require any legal stress to appoint or hire anybody.

Does it make sense to you for all governors and legislators to resign now because of 2023 elections?

If a governor or legislator resigns, who takes over?

Indeed, common sense is not common undecided

I agree that the constitution guarantees the tenor of elective officials, in the same vain the constitution guarantees the right of all Nigerians over a certain age to contest for any elective office. Furthermore the constitution forbids any sort discrimination. You might as well say single women are forbidden from contesting in party primaries unless they get married

NAss is a hindrance to democracy and development of the country. The country do not even need these clowns, they are of no practical value to us.
What is the logic or sense in barring some serving political appointees from participation in elective office at general elections other than for selfish self interests?

Also the corrupt INEC is of no value, but a hindrance to our progress as a country

All they need to do is to ask the President to SACK THEM & that's all. Sacking is different from resign hence they can contest without problems
