No fewer than seven security operatives were killed by suspected Bandits around 1pm on Tuesday, March 15, in Niger state.

Salemgists gathered that the security men killed included the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Nasko, Magama Local Government Area of the State.

A source told salemgists that the gunmen, who attempted to launch an attack on Nasko were engaged by the security operatives, comprising of the police, military and local vigilantes.

The sad development was confirmed in a statement released by the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.

According to the command’s image maker, the DPO, two other policemen, and four vigilante members lost their lives during the gun battle.

He added that the Area Commander, Kotangora, had drafted reinforcement with the military personnel to the area to forestall break down of law and order.

Police statement reads:

"“On 15/03/2022 at about 1: p.m. armed bandits/terrorists invaded Nasko village, Magama LGA of Niger State Police operatives with vigilante members were immediately mobilized by DPO Nasko and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle in which some the hoodlums were neutralised and others escaped with gunshot injuries, the police said

Unfortunately, during the gun battle, the DPO, two other policemen, and four vigilante members lost their lives

The Area Commander, Kotangora immediately drafted reinforcement with the military personnel to the area to forestall break down of law and order

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, fsi condoles with the families of officers and vigilante members who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident, while reassuring members of the public that the Command will not be deterred or relent in it’s effort to curb banditry in the State.”

Since the terrorism ends in the North, there is no problem...

If unknown gun men tries this in the east, the innocent civilians will suffer it, by now community house's would have been razed down by police and military personnel, let them enjoy their brothers, police and terrorist are the same in Nigeria, the difference is that one wears uniform to commit robbery in broad day light while one stays in the bush

Smh. Terrorists will slaughter security agents in the North and leave photo evidence everywhere. But NAF will bomb terrorist at a wedding and we won't see one single picture. Security agents will claim to kill "many bandits", yet no photo....no be juju be that?
