Please Help Bashaar Become Cancer Free by Olameen1713: 7:22am On Mar 18, 2022 |
Hello my fellow nairalanders, My name is Taoheed. I don't know if this is appropriate but I have no choice than to run to this platform which I have been a regular member over the years. My family and I are raising money for our 3 years old son who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer in May 2021. Our journey began in February 2021 with Bashaar complaining of severe abdominal pain which would actually starts at the early part of the night and last for about 4hrs with 30mins break like a contraction. He was treated at 6 different hospitals with series of misdiagnosis made between February and May 15th, 2021 before we were advised by another doctor to take him for a CT scan which the result revealed he had an adrenal tumor sitting on his right kidney. About 3 weeks later June 4th 2021 precisely, surgery was done successfully at the 7th hospital while the tumor was taken to the lab for histology. The histology report revealed the tumor was in stage 1. This made his doctors then believed he was free from cancer since everything has been taken out from the primary site while we never knew it was just a case of another MISDIAGNOSIS! Because the tumor has spread to the bone marrow while we were made to believe he was cancer free. He had some few cases of high temperature around July but was fine all through to September when we noticed he could not stand on his feet. We were advised to get a physiotherapist to work on his muscles since he has spent so much time on the hospital bed. Around second week of October, he had a pathological fracture of the both femur during a session with his physiotherapist. This took us to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital where bone and bone marrow biopsy was done and revealed he has a metastatic neuroblastoma to the bone and bone marrow. A stage 4 metastatic neuroblastoma was confirmed. His doctors in LUTH commenced chemotherapy immediately for him and he's been making progress each day. He is presently back on his feet but the Bone scan result after his 5th cycle revealed he still has the cancer in his bones. His doctors recommends an urgent bone marrow transplant for him to clear all the remaining cancer left in his body to become in order to become cancer free. Bashaar is a fighter but his strength is dwindling but we believe with your donations (no matter how small it is) you can help Bashaar beat this cancer to live a long and purposeful life. Thank you for reading and hopefully donating. Please kindly help me push this to the front page.
