Xiaomi had a new flagship phone, The Xiaomi 12 Pro. It may not be their highest tier Device of the year but even so it brings plenty of premium features and a hefty price tag.
So Is the Xiaomi 12 Pro a flagship worth considering?

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a sleek uniform look from the Glass tapers to the aluminium frame and the satin finish is also silky smooth. If you look closely you'll see an interesting touch on the camera bump, which has lines separating the difference modules.

Does the Xiaomi 12 has IP against water and dust?

For some reason, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has no IP Rating against water and dust which other competitors and even this year's Xiaomi mid rangers do have.

DISPLAY
The screen of the Xiaomi new flagship is a curved 6.73 INCH AMOLED with Gorilla Glass fixes protection. A QHD resolution and a high 120Hz Refresh Rate.

The resolution is quite sharp too. It comes out to 521 PPI and content looks crisp and clear. Blacks are super deep thanks to the AMOLED Technology and it also has support for HDR 10 plus as well as DOLBY VISION.

With the 12 Pro, you can make colors quite accurate if you want through the profile and color settings. For the Refresh Rate, you can choose a maximum ceiling in the custom settings or select the auto mode which goes up to 120 regardless of your choice.




The Xiaomi 12 Pro can also reduce the Refresh Rate based on your activity to save Energy. Xiaomi claims the 12 Pro can go as low as 1 Hertz.

It has a fast 420Hz touch sampling rate for better responsiveness. This is a feature gamers would enjoy.

BRIGHTNESS

The max brightness of the Xiaomi 12 Pro's display is flagship grade. When measured manually with a slider, it is around 500 nits but when measured on auto mode it's around over 1000 nits.

SPEAKERS
The 12 Pro has stereo speakers with one at the bottom and the other which output sounds through the earpiece and a grille at the top. The speakers have Harman kardon Branding.

FINGERPRINT
You can unlock the Xiaomi 12 Pro with the optical under display fingerprint reader. It is fast and reliable.

STORAGE
It has a 128gb and 256gb storage but not expandable.

Interface Of The Xiaomi 12 Pro:

The interface of the 12 Pro is MIUI 12, running on Android 12. It's pretty straight forward and comparable to both the previous version and the MIUI 12 which runs on Android 11.
The UI in the Xiaomi series is based on Android 12 not 11. But for some reason there's not much difference on the Global Models. The Chinese variant gets visual improvements and other things like a reworked widget interface.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro runs in the new android flagship Chipset the "SNAPDRAGON 8 Gen 1". It's built on a four narrometer process and provides blazing fast performance. Gaming and multitasking is no problem here and the Xiaomi 12 Pro has 5G connectivity.

The SD 8 Gen 1 runs hot and the Xiaomi latest flag ship thermal management doesn't quite keep up.

BATTERY
The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 4600mAh battery. It has an Incredible fast charging speed when using a 120W adapter. with the 120W adapter, it can charge from 0-100 percent on 21 Minutes.

CAMERA

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 50MP Main camera with OIS,50MP Telephoto 2 times zoom and a 50MP Ultra Wide camera.

It takes good and detailed photo during daytime and the processing of the photo is balanced without excessive sharpening. The colors are lively and the dynamic range is excellent.

TELEPHOTO:
The telephoto maintain that at expert level performance. Shots have a very good sharpness and details and the dynamic range is Also great.
It's colors can be slightly warmer and more saturated than those at the main camera but the difference is minor.
The portrait modes relies on the telephoto for capturing photos.

The ultra wide photo are very crisp and dynamic
The Xiaomi 12 Pro also takes amazing shots in low light situation. It will automatically apply night mode by default when taking photos in low light.

The night mode can be turned on manually in the settings and are basically identical with the auto mode.
The quality of the main camera is very good with an excellent level of detail and we'll controlled noise.The color are pleasant and the highlight are nicely preserved when taking photos in low light. Exposure is rather conservative as far as night mode go.

SELFIE CAMERA
Selfies on the 12 Pro are captured at 32MP from the front facing camera and it accompany each photos that are taken with lots of details and plenty of lively colors and wide dynamic in any environment.

VIDEO
The rear camera can record video up to 4k@60fps and 8k@240fps. It also has smooth video stabilization and a praiseworthy smoothness while recording.

CONCLUSION
The Xiaomi 12 Pro brings a smooth finish, a curved high resolution AMOLED with an adaptive refresh rate. Good Stereo speakers, the top Android Chipset, blazing fast charging and very versatile cameras.

Although there's no IP protection against water and dust, the battery isn't that great compared to others and the speaker isn't the best around. But if you don't mind these things then the Xiaomi 12 Pro could be worth looking into.
