Cabinet shocker! Jonathan returns 12 ministers to old offices On July 3, 2011 · In News
*We’ll hit the ground running – President
By DANIEL IDONOR
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday disappointed lobbyists for portfolios in the Federal Executive Council, FEC, as he returned all the reappointed ministers to their former offices.
The president, who only recently expressed dissatisfaction with frequent changes in the ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, ordered 12 of the returnee-ministers to go back to their respective ministries and resume duties immediately.
This is an indication that most of the former presidential aides may be reappointed and reassigned their former offices and duties.
Jonathan, however, said that two new ministers, Zainab Maina, Adamawa, and Stella Ada Ogonweinyi ,Anambra, will have their portfolios communicated to them on Monday (tomorrow), by the Secretary to Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
The 14 ministers took their oath of office in three batches of five, five, four.
The re appointed ministers are Emeka Wogu, Abia, who returns to Labour and Productivity; Bala Mohammed from Bauchi, Federal Capital Territory; Deziani Allison-Madueke, Bayelsa, to return to Ministry of Petroleum Resources while Godsday Orubebe, Delta, is to return to Niger Delta Ministry.
Others are Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu (Ebonyi) to return to Education, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (Ekiti) to return as Minister of State FCT, Prof. Ruqqayyatu Rufai’a (Jigawa) to Ministry of Education and Shamsudeen Usman (Kano), to National Planning Ministry.
Others are Musa Sada (Katsina) to return to Mines and Steel; Bello Adoke (Kogi) returns as the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Labaran Maku (Nasarawa) returns as the Minister of Information and Communication and Yusuf Suleiman (Sokoto) to Ministry of Transport.
Special guests who witnessed the ceremony included the Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Acting Chairman, Haliru Mohammed; PDP chieftain, Tony Anenih; Governor of Adamawa, Murtala Nyako; former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieseigha; former governor of Nasarawa State, Akwe Doma and some family members of the ministers.
Jonathan, in a brief remark, said the ministers were sworn-in in batches so that they will hit the ground running having lost a month after his inauguration.
While congratulating the returnee-ministers for scaling through both the security and Senate screening, he expressed hope that they would lived up to the expectation of Nigerians. Comments are moderated. Please keep them clean and brief. Disqus

This Jonah is a disaster!
That it took President Go-Slow Jonah almost 3 months to re-appoint his failed cabinet is no more a fresh news, but what is new news is, when will the new cabinet settles down for serious governance business.
There is no doubt that, President Jonah is a disaster to our country. This man hardly have any natural or artificial readiness, seriousness or endowment in him to lead this great country. Since his assumption of office, nothing seems moved or moving as recorded achievements or successes in governance and in the country. One hardly sees a FG presence in any of the 36 States of the country. His totally and grossly incompetence has continued to draw the nation's growth backward in all the sectors of governance. Our economy is beyond repair, and is now approaching, a disastrous stage. The insecurity in the country has gotten ed to a stage, where the common man is now to himself.
Unemployment has risen to the highest level, corruption is now the order of the day, our education system is in a shamble, strikes in every sector of the economy, common man and the poor can no longer afford the cost of petroleum product, kerosene has become a precious stone to many families and lack of social provisions has continued unabated, and government presence hardly felt in the country. The Jonah's government has lost focus, touch and direction. His government has no known policies on governance and making lives better for the people. He had continued to run and gamble with governance, as he appoints and re-appoints same old empty-heads as ministers and government administrators.
Now is the time for Nigerians to ask for their rights to good lives, better treatments and dividends of democracy from President Jonah and his party, the PDP. The long sufferings of the masses seems to have no end, hope seems not in sight and the people are dying in silence. No jobs, no security, no social provisions, no electricity, no good roads, no known policies on educational system, no housing, no transportation, no known health-care policies, no competency, no known efforts on the part of the people running the country, excepts the ones that enriches them and their cohorts.
This government is long over-due for replacement. Let's someone gives us a time-out to cool-off, the heat is becoming unbearable. It is time to crash this one-sided democracy, which makes the rich, richer and poor, poorer. Let someone helps us to stop this directionless government and gives us some years of relief, to rethinking, re-directs and re-structure. Let someone crashes this present political arrangements, gives us two-party and one independent political platform that, could make change of governments in the country, possible and easier . May God bless Nigeria.
Time will tell,

Old wine in new bottle! Nigeria is already on her knees and these bunch of thieves will not relent until she's dead. I wonder if this was the change that was promised? How about the technocrats? Its really sad to see that many lives were wasted just to take us to this level. How ignorant and gullible nigerians fell for this still beats my imagination. 'We voted for Good luck and not PDP'. This is just the begining. A tip of the iceberg. The signs of cluelessness and incompetence is already showing. Una go hear wen!

Those who complain always and for a every step taken by those in authority are the very ones who will not be able to achieve anything if they are given a position of authority. Those who criticize others and can never see any good in others can never perform good deeds themselves. Those who cannot appreciate the good in others will never see good in their lives.

dear mr president , i am not used to comenting , please sir ,it will be hard to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result , these ministers are good , however the fear of poverty means that , any nigerian put in any position will try and safeguard himself financially before thinking of the masses and by extention the nation , sir i hate to say this but you need to change our economic module , there is an economic module called tergeted quantitative easing , it creates jobs creates millionaires , raises gdp, raises revenue while keeping taxes near zero and most of all it creates confidence even in the unemployed , while the hardworking people will be elevated to the status of a demi god please ask sanusi soludo or okwonjo iwella they all know it even if you dont want to practice it just listen to what they have to say about it , one again its called TARGETED QUANTITAIVE EASING ,

Jackson Awopeju, if you feel Buhari is more competent than GEJ, then something is inherently and seriously wrong with your education. I hope you did not cheat to pass exams. Is it in speech, knowledge of what to say, or of what disciplinary bearing. Remember, if not Odumakin's statements and constructions, we would not have been hearing from your kind of competent man. If that man is your idol of a competent person, I doubt the quality of your education, intelligence and standards. It is a sin to be half-baked. Goodluck is not half-baked. Okay.

What is the shocker about returnee ministers. It is the same people in the same old game but I pray there will be change of attitude this time around. Nigeria needs change more than one could ever imagine. We can do it if only these so called leaders will live an exemplary life while their tenure lasts.

As Nigerians, we should stop complaining. When we voted for Jonathan based on tribe and sentiment rather than competence, what did we expect, a miracle. A cat is always a cat. PDP can never and will never produce anything good for Nigeria and Nigerians. We need to collectively come together and shove them out in the next election like the South West did.

You are not ready to grow, it's rather unfortunate! Please Jackson or the like, retract your stance if you must move with the wind of change blowing everywhere in the country.
You are the one complaining, and no one else! Pretense will never take you to anywhere. Flag 1 person liked this. Like Reply Load more comments Add New Comment
