This tragedy was always waiting to happen.

I have always wondered how this government would secure railways in the north with the level of banditry there. This horror was bound to happen. Potentially this could be an eye opener to the bandits.

The north may continue to find peace and security elusive because of the politicization of security.

They told us “an attack against boko haram is an attack against the north”. They told us how they had “settled” Fulani herdsmen brought in from other countries to help them win the 2015 election. They offered protection to these evil people. Now they have come to stay. Security agencies who have been are overwhelmed on the too many battle fronts. Some of their men are accomplices. The left their north and exported their evil to the south. The southerners started shouting and defending their communities. They told us how freedom of movement is enshrined in the constitution.

Now they have shifted to the airports and railway. Is it not an irony that they have focused so much in Kaduna?

We need a true messiah in this country.

It is getting to a point where it is suicidal to travel by train in Nigeria.
They should have envisaged this kind of terror attack and secure the rail tracks by fencing it with barbed wire or something.
This one that Amaechi wants to build train tracks to Niger Republic I hope it won't be a waste of our money?
Bandits and terrorists will just be kidnapping and confiscating people and goods for huge ransoms.
This administration really has failed in the area of security, both of human lives, of property and food.

Sentiment apart. I grew up in the north but i am from the west. This is a creation of the north, and not of any government, either past or present. The best any government would do is to try. The northern male population who are not educated is alarming, they have always been used as tools to perpetrate any dastard act thinkable, maybe in the name of religion or reward for such execution.

I Lived in Kaduna for years, witnessed Zango-kataf, sharia dole and minimal crisis here and there. Kano is not left out, not to talk of Jos. I once drove almost naked to escape the crisis from Tsamir-boka, Hotoro in Kano through the Maiduguri road to Sabon gari, with my sick dad and if i could recall about 10 people were with us in the small old 504 salon car, how we managed through till today remains a mystery.

When we fortunately got to Sabon gari, the soldiers asked us how we managed to escape, and i retorted, through the Maiduguri road they were all in shock as that axis was a no go area as at that time, i told them the only way the hard way, i just felt it would be better to die trying than for us to be slaughtered right in our homes. The soldier shook my hand and congratulated me for making it this far.

What is happening now in the entire north spreading down south is a creation of the north which we all failed to raise meaningful concerns about, possibly offering pragmatic solutions and making sure it is implemented. The people of the west have a saying "Bi ará ilé ẹni ba njẹ kòkòrò búburú ti a ò sọ fun, hẹ̀rẹ̀-huru rẹ kò ní jẹ ki a sùn" – If you fail to warn your neighbour of danger, his/her cries at night might prevent you from sleeping.

When bandits attacked Kaduna international airport, the governor was somewhere in abuja for APC convention. Just about 2 days later, attack on Kaduna - abuja train. Who knows where next.
I just hope Kaduna has not been officially taken over by bandits.

Despite having belief that Atiku might outperform Tinubu if elected, at the same time, I hardly find Atiku labelling this Fulani's bandits and condemning them. Are the fulanis that populated in the North that northern politicians find it difficult to label them what they truly are? Which is TERRORIST in big letters?

The only solution is a non-northern president. Only a non northerner president mcan deal with north very well and to be more precise, a south southerner or south easterner will deal with them better than a south westerner.

I am not campaigning for anybody though!!!!

Things will be worse in Nigeria under Atiku than Buhari. If Atiku succeedes President Buhari, hyper corruption and political instability will wreck Nigeria.
