Motivation is the word derived from 'motive' which means needs, desires, wants or drives within the individuals. It is the process of stimulating people to actions to accomplish a goal.

In the work goal context the psychological factors stimulating people's behaviours can be - desire for money, desire for career growth, Desire for sound mind and body.

Honestly, when it boils down to real success in your ICAN Exams or any other achievement in your life, motivation is just like a boost of a twin turbo BMW engine. What will help you reach your goals are the habits you have formed.

Frankly, the bursts of motivation are awesome. For instance, they help you find energy to study an extra hour or two after listening to a motivational talk or watching a “day in the life video” of your dream career. How wonderful.

The bursts aren’t sustainable, and finding them is exhausting. Once you locate a source of motivation, you cannot use it over and over again.

Build a habit instead.

Habit formation produces a no-excuse mentality. I write each day because I write each day. It doesn’t matter how I feel. I don’t need motivation. The post gets written.

Further, if the end of the day is nearing and I haven’t written a post, I sense a craving to write. My habit helps me show up each day.

To do so, you need to answer three sets of questions.

1. What is your ICAN Exam qualification goal?

2. What do you need to do to reach it and when?

3. What is your reward for completing the process?
