a Teleagric subscription plan from Extension service agents to promote multi-storey farming as part of its efforts to help increase farmers’ income in Nigeria.
Multi-storey farming means growing compatible plants of different heights on the same field and at the same time. For example we would be encouraging farmers in 2022 to grow a coconut, plantain, ginger and Egusimelon farm.
This is generally practiced in other countries and that is one of the reasons most of these farmers are richer than an Average Nigerian farmer.
It is basically practiced in gardens & plantation for utmost use of solar energy even under high planting density.

ESA Agric Consulting Extension specialist says multi-storey farming opens a new door for farmers to earn all round the year as there is less risk of complete crop damage. In addition, it is a potential technology as it makes use of natural resources properly. The system helps in better use of environmental factors, better yield stability in different environmental conditions and conservation of soil & other resources.

In a telephone interview,
Agriculturist Enyi Stanley Adimabua said that
“The adoption of coconut based multi-storey farming (Coconut, Plantain, Ginger, Egusimelon & Honeybee) is more profitable than the traditional farming systems". The first eco-friendly plantation forestry Multi-storey Farming pilot phase Models on high-value crops would be commencing soon in Ubuluku-Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria by the SACELPRECIOUS GROUP.
