How VP Osinbajo Cancelled Amaechi’s N3.7bn Security Proposal For Rail Track by bestofnollywood: 11:03pm On Apr 01, 2022 |
Contrary to reports that a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of September 24, 2021, turned down a proposal for security equipment for the Abuja-Kaduna rail track, Apples Bite Magazine, can confirm that, Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, not the FEC, actually turned down the proposal for reasons not unconnected to personal ambition in 2023. Incase you missed it: Revealed! Why FEC Rejected Amaechi’s N3.7bn Security Proposal for Rail Track A September 24, 2021 memo by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was deliberately leaked some hours ago, to dispute claims by the minister that he warned the particular FEC of the implications of standing down his memo, because the consequences might be grave. Some of the reports from the leaked memo, had quoted a source, which claimed that, “We had doubts about the capability of a company, which was formed less than two years prior and had no track record of handling a contract of N3.7bn or a contract on surveillance systems. The company was also to be paid upfront. Our investigation pointed to a conflict of interest,” The report, which quoted a top presidency official, noted that the minister, in his presentation, stated that the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), had reviewed the process of procurement and given a certificate of no objection for the contract, adding that the project would be funded from the N71.4bn budget of the ministry. “The minister subsequently asked the council to ‘approve the award of contract for the procurement and installation of electronic surveillance system and interrogation unit on the Abuja (Idu)-Kaduna (Rigasa) 200km railway monitoring rail intrusion detection system and emergency response system in favour of Messrs Mogjan Nigeria Limited/Cagewox Dot Net Limited in the sum of N3,780,827,410.66 inclusive of 7.5 per cent VAT with a completion period of four months,” the report stated... The firm, which was incorporated on August 6, 2019, by Prince Godwin Momoh, Chioma Momoh and George Momoh, had a turnover of N84.9m.At least for the emboldened, if I were in Osinbajo's shoes, I will not hesitate to fling that useless application out through the window. Nonsense. As if that is not enough, the company was formed in the third quarter of 2019 and an annual turnover of less than 85m, yet wanted to handle a project of almost N4B, who does that? Also, there is no track record of Chioma's fake company ever handling security surveillance contract. Abeg Osinbajo na real star boy jor. Nonsense and ingredients. 5 Likes |

Are you really expecting the Prof at Law to approve a caricature contract at the embezzlement of a close to non-existent company? This is a calumny campaign against Osinbajo from mischief makers. 1 Like |

HIGHESTPOPORI:The plan is CCTV Forget about all the grammar it is CCTV The only purpose it MIGHT serve is in catching people AFTER a crime It would not have saved lives The only thing that would have saved lives would have been an armed response. If we do not have the men how will that work Just imagine someone telling you to install CCTV over kilometres of pipelines to stop oil theft Are we that gullible |

aribisala0: Nigeria's culture of carelessness has really eaten deeply into this one's brain for him to think that surveillance tech is only used AFTER the crime has been committed Had those CCTVs been installed, those Terrorists would find it difficult to take their time to mount explosives or even lay ambush because at least one control room, out of all the control rooms situated in every station will see them. |

Saxxon:By the same logic by now oil theft would be a thing of the past. Even the herdsmen problem would have ended .All we n beed is CCTV in the bush and control rooms Is it not this same Nigeria that bandits entered a barracks and operated for several hours unchallenged We do not have enough security personnel to do what you are saying , often they have no vehicles and no petrol . Everything you say makes plenty sense......................in a lecture room ..........not the real world It is textbook stuff and has nothing to do with reality in Nigeria So after 3.7 billion for CCTV you still need CONTROL ROOMS and that will appear by magic ? Won't it be paid for. Won't the staff be paid and trained. what will that cost Where will the money come from How much do the trains generate> Meanwhile the trains were bought and the lines built with loans that have to be paid for. Reality my friend is very different from classroom You say they TOOK THEIR TIME to mount explosives . How long did they take> were you there? How long did it take for the entire operation and how long would it have taken for a response? Trans travel hundreds of miles in the middle of nowhere with no access roads to the lines When the responders arrive do you imagine the bandits would run away? What are the scores of bandits versus security personnel ? Who is winning? Face reality |

It's only right for you to secure your property for your own safety , you can't build a house in a violent area and not fence it . They just risked lives of Nigerians with this uncompleted project. |

Yes you must secure it but how With blood of Jesus Blood of Ogun or what The fact that someone claims putting a broom with red cloth is security does not make it true So we should not believe every story we are told The idea of this was a "pilot" and if it worked to extend So essentially it is UNPROVEN and we DO NOT KNOW if it would have worked We do not know simple questions Was this contract advertised anywhere? Who else put in bids and how was the winner chosen[, was there any consultation with security services after all they are the ones that will operate it, Do they have the competences and training |
