i got this idea from Jenwitemi. instead of having islamic banking or western banking, why cant we hav sumthing pan-Nigerian that incorporates African religious values lyk say, an Obatala Banking System cool
As Jenwitemi says, this would completely revolutionize our banking system for real. cool

Re: Obatala Banking by PAGAN9JA(m): 11:57pm On Jul 07, 2011
Obatala bank gives u free blessings from Lord Olodumare and kola nut with every loan. also u get interest on savings but no interest on loans.  cool
also less paperwork. most of the transaction based on swearing by any Orixa (Obatala/Oshun, etc.) for repaymetn.
this is especially helpful for poor illiterate farmers because they cant read and write (for d paperwork), they need the blessings of Oko for good harvest/rains and they also need free loans in order to repay bak on time.  wink

other services include specialised herbal medicinal tea, traditional food, etc., in the waiting room. all payed for by donations to the Orisha. cool

@Mr Pagan

Start It, I know you like African tradition but I also, do, like it, but these days if you do am too much people go run from you, why because we African have lost our true heritage by the white man lies and brainwashing,

The whole religious concept of the white man are Lies and shams, i dont care if the advance in tech and science, infact we Africans ancesteors started this science thing google Dogon tribe in Mali , Sirus B stars and Timbuktu, .before they came and destroyed it, and stole it away.to advance them self,
Re: Obatala Banking by PAGAN9JA(m): 9:48am On Jul 09, 2011
my friend whats your tribe there is still a chance to revert and reinstate our lost heritage. you still have the chance. jus tell me wat tribe do you belong to.

i practice traditional just lyk my ancestors have been doing since time immortal. if anyone runs away from u, i suggest u run after them n ask the the reason y they r running and explain your beliefs to him and make him realise that hes the one who is deluded and not you. i have done that once. cool

and you are absolutely right. IN FACT, almost all the main inventions, i.e., numbers, surgery, concepts of physics, etc were first started by Pagan scientists before christianity like Aristotle, Archimedes, Euclid, Pythagoras, Aryabhatta,Thucydidesm,Ptah-hotep of Egypt etc.

The Pagan people were the first to propagate philosophy, astrology, mathematics and the sciences. they were the first to chart the positions of the planets without any proper equipment and they were the were the first to say that the Earth was round and revolves around the Sun. In fact it was the christian church of europe who tried to pull us backward and by handing the death sentence to anyone who denied that the Earth is flat and the Sun revolves around the Earth.  angry angry angry angry tongue tongue tongue

dont worry brother. im si.ck and tired of all this nonsense. i need more supporters for my cause, and eventually with proper understanding and will, we will be able to re-install Paganism and the traditional faiths, not only in Nigeria, but among all the tribes of Africa and the world, wherever there are tribals left. we need to distance ourselves from the clutches of western ideology and neo-imperialism ands we must concentrate on our own development and progress, technologically and culturally.

But first, our own country, Nigeria.

@MR PAGAN why do you ask of ma tribe, i am igala and i am young hiphop dude, from the ghetto,Do u have a facebook, post it here,
Re: Obatala Banking by PAGAN9JA(m): 10:46am On Jul 10, 2011
GOOD. you are in luck then, because there are still many Igala peoples practicing tradtional Igala religion, ebo, and belief n Gods/spirits lyk Iye, Alijenu (water spirit), etc, ancestors and also the belief in the power of medicine, Ogwu.  smiley
i would suggest you in your free time to find out more about these peoples, visit them and learn everything possible from them about Igala religion before all the knowledge is lost and to spread it around the entire Igala community and pass it to your children, so that the knowledge and religion is not lost. However, the Igala must abandon the christianity/islam they are practicing and practice Igala religion as the main religion and not just as a side religion.

i had a facebook acc but i had to deactivate it. tongue
Re: Obatala Banking by poweredcom(m): 12:56pm On Jul 11, 2011
@pagan how did you get to know all those igala words, have you been there?am sure you google it,umm i am a lagos boy,and i cant change that religion back, everyman should pratice any religion, but i know we Africans have lost it in our own. So pagan wat tribe are you and where are you based
Re: Obatala Banking by PAGAN9JA(m): 2:40pm On Jul 11, 2011
no i actually read them in a book which i purchased online . im doing extensive studies on Pagan religions followed by tribes around the world. also im trying to restore traditional faiths to tribes around the globe. im meeting success in many areas. you can change the religion back, if u have the will and courage to do it. all you require is determination and a sense of bravery to face society. im sure your ancestors will be pleased with you. Im Maguzawa, a Pagan branch of the Hausa peoples. I am currently based in Britain, though i keep roaming around the world, so im hardly in Britain. My hometown is Kano, though my ancestors actually came from Jigawa.
Re: Obatala Banking by poweredcom(m): 3:57am On Jul 14, 2011
well that good, but you have to try because this is the modern world,
Re: Obatala Banking by PAGAN9JA(m): 10:50am On Jul 14, 2011
dont worry about that. to progress, we need to learn from the past. take the Japenese for example. they are one of the top 5 most developed countries in the world and their technology is incomparable. yet, they are extremely religious, cul.tural and still follow their traditional faith and way of life, they still worship their ancestors, they still eat with chopsticks, sill bow in order to greet, still have an Emperor, still live in traditional houses and are still modern, rich and happy people.

that is the way it should be in Nigeria also.

look at our present state. 95 % of us r either christian or muslim yet we r all backward, poor an in such a bad condition. angry

i think our ancestors r jus punishing us for abandoning our true identity and trying to be someone else.
