Instablog.com , had reported that over 27 soldiers were killed and 4 injured at abakaliki, in the early morning of today, wednesday ,April 6th 2022.

According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, he said ; " there was a heavy traffic-jam as a result of blockades stationed by an unknown groups along enugu_abakaliki highway. This blockade forced all vehicles and motorists plying the road to a temporary halt for over 2hrs."
The eyewitness said ; " a military convoy ( 6 tanks ,8 hilux and 1 armored trunk) approached the scene, waited impatiently for the traffic to be eased but to no avail , some of the soldiers where mobilised to ease the traffic, they moved swiftly to remove the blockade , on approaching the bloackade , their was a hauling of bullets on them from unknown men hiding beside an abandoned petrol tank and they died instantly , people ran in different directions , including drivers and passengers , hawkers and market men and women"
He said " then ,the remaining soldiers at the rear responded, but they were met with fierce counter_attack from the gun men , the gunmen launched several missiles on the tanks while hauling bullets simultaneously"
A visit to the scene by a former commissioner for internal security , hon: paul ugbo-nwachi, claimed that several bodies of dead soldiers numbering over 27 where taken to the morgue at st: peter Catholic hospital Nkalagu and over 4 injured soldiers including a civilian that was caught_up during the fire-fight have been taken to the same hospital for medical treatment.
A call put-forward to the commissioner of police ebonyi state was not answered as at the time of writing this piece.
Meanwhile , the chairman , ohaukwu LGA, prof: eze patrick eze , who prayed for peace and harmony while admonishing any form of violence towards the agitation for biafra.
Prof: Eze , implored the indigenes and youths to assist the security in apprehending the perpetrators of the attack by providing useful information and reporting any suspicious persons and organisation.

The soldiers should go after the UGM, but if they refused to fight the UGM and start burning village houses then they are cowards.
