Stella Oduah In N3.2 Billion Contract Mess


Top businesswoman and third wife of Minister of State for Works, Princess Stella Oduah Ogiewonyi, may have tarnished the image she built over the years, if information at our disposal is anything to go by.

Stella, who married Chris Ogiewonyi years back, is said to be enmeshed in a N3.2 billion, “Training of Niger Delta Militants in Oil and Gas”, contract.

Interestingly, the contract was alleged to have been awarded to her by her hubby and this has attracted a lot of criticisms from different quarters.
Also not satisfied with the said contract are the militants who were granted amnesty a few years back. They said they were neither not informed of the training nor are they aware that such contract was awarded for their training in oil and gas.”

Sources informed National WAVES that the militants were surprised that inspite of the huge sum set aside for the contract, they were not contacted and carried along on the scheme of things.

National WAVES gathered that the contract was awarded to Oduah’s Sea Petroleum and Gas Group (SP and G).
Also National WAVES learnt that some senior officials of the Niger Delta Ministry could not come to terms on why the contract was awarded, since it will not improve the welfare and the economic value of the militants.
“My brothers this is unbelievable. Training militants in Oil and Gas, how will they benefit from such training? After training the militants, is government going to provide them money to start oil and gas business? As far as we are concerned, this is total waste of government resources and we are not in support of such wastage.
Our checks revealed that soon after the contract was approved on April 8, 2011, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Niger Delta, released a bond covering the contract sum. But Princess Ogiewonyi would prefer cash payment instead of a bond.
A very credible source who is privy to the contract award told National WAVES Magazine that Princess Ogiewonyi swiftly rushed to the Minister for Finance, Mr. Olusegun Aganga who along with Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe headed straight to the bank from where the bond was converted to cash and the sum released on April 12, 2011.
Princess Ogiewonyi who also doubles as the Director of Finance, Jonathan/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organization is not new to allegations of corrupt enrichment. She allegedly registered different companies some of which were awarded contract to furnish the campaign organization office. She also got a N4b import waiver for rice that was distributed during the campaign.
She is alleged to be fronting for Zakhem International, a Lebanese oil servicing firm discredited in Ghana and Liberia. She negotiates on behalf of Zakhem International with top government officials and the leadership of some notable parastatals.
The immediate past Deputy High Commissioner to Ghana, Craig Murray, who is a well known international campaigner for transparency, described Zakhem as “astonishingly corrupt” in a well circulated article in the Ghanaian media in February 2010. Three years after Zakhem was paid a whopping $80 million to install at Kpone for the Volta River Authority a set of American-made power turbines which cost VRA only $70m, Zakhem has not even scratched the surface. The British diplomat called the Ghanaian officials who signed the deal “stupid and unintelligent”.
In neighbouring Liberia, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf wasted no time sacking last September, the managing director of the Liberian Petroleum Refinery Corporation (LPRC), Harry Greaves- once considered untouchable- when a Ministry of Justice probe report established that Zakhem was awarded a terribly inflated contract to build three new storage tanks for the LPRC and refurbish the existing 60 year-old terminal. The contract was awarded on May 1, 2009, for $24.8m whereas the same job could be done satisfactorily for no more than $12m, the highest amount internationally reputable contracting firms asked for.
All attempts to make Princess Stella Oduah state her side of the story met a brick wall as she did not pick her call when we called her mobile phone.

Is it not a fact that OBJ (who is GEJ's mentor and champion) strongly preferred elderly women to young girls?

Why was Baba Iyabo banging all those old women ministers and special advisers/assistants when there were millions of fresh, succulent, young girls begging for Baba's awure-istic touch? You think Baba did not see the young girls before he started banging the agba eran?

Yes, I am an Edo man. Yes, I am from the same local Government with Ogiemwonyi (Orhionmwon) but, I don't know him, I don't know his village and we are never from the same village, not to talk of having land issue with the Ogiemwonyis.

It is a pity! 35% affirmative action of our dear grandma Patient Jonathan is never meant for divorces, Harlots and their girl friends. There are a lot of women that are living happily with their families. Why are they not chosen for the 35% thing. PLS, PLS. PLS if this 35% call by women is to enable those in authority bring there girl friends closer to them at the expense of all of us pls lets stop that rubbish. it is disheartening really that[b] the criteria for occupying ministerial posts in Nigeria now is whether u are GEJ's girlfriend[/b] or Dame Patience's bosom buddy, whatever happened to integrity, proven track record,expertise in one's field as key qualities to be considered when appointing ministers. As long as ministers are chosen based on frivolous reasons and sheer sentiments then I fear very much for Nigeria
