Less than 150k. I had a collection of chemical suppliers so I started as a middle man between the suppliers and consumers (mainly industries, laboratories and science institutions). Through hard work and integrity, I was able to get lots of items from these suppliers on credit to go supply to my clients when i get requests and boom! My breakthrough.

Which droves? Stop deceiving yourself
Pharmacy has no international recruitment appeal. No body needs a Nigerian pharmacist to come to there country

So, how come Pharmacy is in the shortage list of health professional in the UK.
And for Canada, Pharmacy being a professional course is equivalent to Masters degree in the express entry evaluation, therefore giving you a leverage and higher CRS score. I ask sure you know nothing about that, and you will open mouth wah! to vomit nonsense.

You need to read more, so you stop embarrassing yourself on a national forum. Nonsense.

Accounting.
I would have been more happier as an engineer. I was a science student and set out to study electrical/electronic engineering before diverting to Accounting.

Secondly, my MBA. As an accounting student, i found my MBA to be totally irrelevant and a waste of time.

I am also an accounting undergraduate in my finals though, but then I have lost all hopes concerning the financial reward attached to it.

If I may ask, what would you advice the undergraduate and graduate alike to do differently regarding this career choice to study accounting that can set one up for financial rewards. To me financial reward is the most vital thing to put into consideration when making a choice of career.
Thank you.

As difficult as it is to practise medicine abroad, it is far easier than pharmacy.
I'm not talking theory now, and I hope you are not a student. Students get deceived alot.

You know nothing, I have more than 5 Pharmacy graduate in Nigeria currently practicing as a Pharmacist in UK, more than 3 in Canada. The country I know is very difficult for foreign trained Pharmacist to practice is USA, the same for medicine and it is almost impossible for Nigeria trained doctor to practice in Canada.

And talking about abroad, which country specifically?

Deut 32: Listen, you heavens, and I will speak; hear, you earth, the words of my mouth. 2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.

upright and just is he.

Let me take it from this angle. This is in response to some of the comments here.

All of us will not be physicists, chemists, biologists and mathematicians. Nope! Some will be engineers, some doctors, some lawyers, some accountants, etc.

The main premise of this thread, which most of the commenters have followed, is on the lucrative nature of courses offered in higher institutions of learning in the country. Wealth can be acquired by anyone through any means.

There are many wealthy people out there who are not educated. Some of them are even employers of educated people.

No human being is created empty. There is something in every human being -man/woman/boy/girl - deposited by the Maker, which a course of study - education, even - has no bearing on. This is who such individual is. Nothing - not even wealth, riches, education or poverty - can take it away from such an individual. Any individual who recognizes this, the purpose for which he/she has been sent into the world, is a fulfilled individual. This is what defines such an individual- not necessarily education/academic qualifications or certificates. This is who such an individual is. Remove academic qualifications, remove wealth or riches, remove physical jobs, even, such an individual still stands firm and remains indispensable and totally relevant. Such an individual will not agree to exchange it for all the wealth and riches in the world. Even Satan, the devil, can offer such an individual the world just to make sure that he/she does not realize it. Wealth is nothing when you realize this.

Those who do not have the knowledge of their purpose in this world will still not feel content or fulfilled, even with the best certificates and all the wealth in the world. If only they can get that next qualification or certificate, then they will make more money. They get the extra qualification or certificate and make more money, yet no fulfilment. They eat the best food, drink the best wine, wear the best clothes and shoes, drive the best cars and travel all over the world, still, unfulfillment lingers. They go to bed with that feeling of unfulfillment and get out of bed with it. They swim in sexual immorality with fast women and fast men, unfulfillment/emptiness still lingers. They resort to adultery, if they are married, still the emptiness won't go away. They lie, they cheat, they steal, they loot, in order to acquire more wealth, nope, unfulfillment/emptiness remains.

Find out who you are. Money, wealth, academic qualification has no bearing on it. Consult your Maker.

YHVH Almighty be praised.

It might be useless to you but it isn't to others since it all depends on passion, even though I'm not doing any major thing with my course of study but that doesn't mean I won't keep on improving myself in relation to it.

No, never

The only regret that I had was that I didn't get to study my childhood course which was pharmacy because I love being in the lab, wearing white and mixing chemicals

My teachers in primary school always kept asking my mum if I studied pharmacy in the uni because they all knew that was my dream course

I did computer science and I can't substitute it for any other course but still have that love for pharmacy

Maybe I'll marry a lady that studied pharmacy when I meet one that I'll be compatible with

One man's meat is another's poison. I wanted medicine and surgery but after 6 years of trying. I said since it was not coming through for me. I said let me try for another professional course and boom I got it. But still love medicine sha. So just like you said you'll marry a pharmacist, I might marry a doctor

LOL, "Jonathan daughter married a medical doctor not a zoologist", does that prove anything. Isn't Jonathan's wife married to a zoologist. You think medical doctors will be enjoying the country and be leaving anyhow. Tell me any Nigerian doctor that can boast 50m in his account apart from Bukola Saraki that never used his result.
The op of this thread said he regretted studying engineering, I'm sure engineering would be in your list if the op never mentioned is course. See check WHO, UNICEF, and see if most employees and leaders studied the courses you are hyping. Leave your life, and hope for the best, do go out there and be forcing course on ss3 students, like saying All of you MUST study medicine if you want a bright future, ignore my advice if your parents are rich. LOL.

Poverty has really dealt with you. No medical doctor with ordinary 50m in his account apart from Sariki?

My boss mini hospital gets more than that a month.

Let's get something right, A senator's son that studies history has better opportunities than a security man' s son who struggled to study electrical engineering.
Most of the people who study medicine, nursing, and the likes have parents that are influential, thats why they can afford it in the first place.
A poor man's soon who studies medicine may end up working in a private hospital earning peanut as salary.

No course is bad, but your background matters

My advice to everyone:

Even if na Yoruba Education dem give you, try to graduate with a 2:1. Why? Big 4 accounting firms and multinational companies would employ you with any degree in as much as its a 2:1.
Also, with a good grade, you have the opportunity of getting foreign scholarships and your own don better if na STEM. Your own don better pass everybody own if you were able to publish your final year project.

I am talking as a university lecturer who schooled outside Nigeria. The moment I see talent that is wasting, I would grab it like hawk wey dey thief chicken and mentor the person. I have seen a first class finance grad stay jobless for 6 years. Write ICAN, e nor gree. Open LinkedIn, mba no. Oya na wetin you wan do with your life? “I want to be a lecturer”. This lecturer work wey me sef wan try to escape? Your village people no try.

Again, I am seeing many of my ex students approaching me to write papers and put their names on it as co author so they can use it to gain scholarships. Same students that were extremely disrespectful and refused to be serious with their project when they were students. Me, I should use my money to do research and I will now spend 150k to publish and I should add your name? Can you do analysis? No. Do you have a laptop? No. Will you pay for the secondary data? No. You try.

In a nutshell, I am begging you all in the name of God to be serious with your project.

What if you pay someone to do the work for you? Who gets the job at the end?

Or what if it's to hard and you seek assistance else where is it bad?

And lastly which course did you study or teaching?
