1. Nigeria
Although polyandry is uncommon in Nigeria, there are tribes in the country that practice it. Among the unique Irigves of northern Nigeria, women have numerous wives, who are collectively referred to as "joint husbands." Until the late 1960s, the Irigwe people of Nigeria used a woman with a common husband. Previously, the women had lived in a variety of common houses, and the children's paternity was assigned to the husband who lived in the woman's house.

2. India
Since India, a country can acquire multiple polyandrous tribes. Polyandria is widespread in parts of North India, but is practiced exclusively by Paharis in the special Jaunsarbawar region, while a small minority in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, justifies polyandry. The descendants of the Pachi Pandavas (five brothers who shared King Panchala's daughter Draupadi) believe in adhering to tradition.

Additionally, polyandry is practiced by the Nilgris, the Nacanad Vellala of Travanco, and a special Toda tribe associated with several Nair caste systems in South India.

According to a 1988 survey conducted by a Tibetan university or college, 13% of 753 Tibetan families practiced polyandry.
