In Africa, we don't seem to know what is called parenting style. In America, this is very important. Do you know why your kid behaves well while your neighbour's kids are wayward? Do you know why Mr. A's child has respect and is very obedient while Mr. B's child does yahoo, smokes, drinks and behaves arrogantly? All these are as a result parenting.

Information is power. Do you know that there are four parenting styles known? Each of them determines your child's behaviour.

In Nigeria for instance, the secrete behind yahoo and rituals is because of bad parenting styles. If you want your child to be useful and resourceful, you must use the best parenting style.

All the four parenting styles have their advantages and disadvantages. All these you need to understand before choosing the best parenting style for your kids.

2. Authoritative parenting style.
3. Permissive/indulgent parenting style.
