If you backup your whatsapp message, then it has to be decrypted before backing up, and then whatsapp can view your messages, or even a good hacker. So never back up messages.

You're right about this but one still needs backup because WhatsApp was designed to give zero storage for user, hence , you need storage to keep your data either on your phone or Gmail and you need back some data up because should something happen to your WhatsApp, you loss all the data, hence, need for backup but you do need back it up on your phone storage, never on Gmail because it could be intercepted and decrypted.

A little correction sir, 'It's practically possible to intercept a message but a lot difficult to decrypt". Nothing is impossible.
Secondly, a message can be intercepted just as the sender hit the send button and right before its encrypted (rootkit).
Having said that, just as you stated, most leaks happen from either the sender or the receiver and not particularly by man-in-the-middle scenario.

Someone has answered you already on the thread the data (message) in transit is what is encrypted but the data at rest that's the WhatsApp message on you see on you fone which is the decrypted msg which is what is actually leaked. That's how the encryption thing works. Yes u can intercept the data in transit but best of look with cracking the thing tho.cheers

Man B ( receives the message as hello)

Then those who tries to see their messages would see it as the middle person.

It's not impossible to intercept data in transit. It's done and regularly. Which is the reason why https was born.

Https will not prevent an attacker from intercepting data, but he will only get the encrypted version, as all data is transmitted as plain text.

That encrypted data can only be decrypted if he has access to the encrypting technology and the key.
