There was this news going around where some people claimed Asiwaju never nominated Prof. Osinbajo as Vice President and it’s somehow sad that people could deny a very evident reality all because of politics.

I am clearly for both Asiwaju and Yemi Osinbajo and I am from the school of thought that thinks Osinbajo have the right to contest for presidency alongside Asiwaju if he so wishes.

In Nigeria politics, there are histories of people going against their benefactors and this scenarios occurred time and time again especially among governors and their successors who they help reach power. It’s not new and we should have learnt to live by that in this present age and time.

However, there is a constant truth here which is clearly that Asiwaju Tinubu nominated Osinbajo as the VP to Buhari and even Osinbajo himself recognize that fact and boldly stated that and lot of media organizations aired the news when he did. So I don’t know where revisionist are seeing their fake news that Asiwaju never helped in Osinbajo nomination.

Abraham Lincoln once said that “nearly all man can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man character, give him power! “

We have seen what power do to people and Osinbajo is not an exception coz he’s still human and prone to betrayal of trust. In politics, betrayal is allowed which explain why there are no permanent enemies and friend in politics.

Even Fashola once said that “May our loyalty never be tested”. Osinbajo loyalty already tested and his human part revealed itself.

Either way, we now have two leaders vying for the presidential ticket of APC. They both have the right to aspire for that and we will wish them best of luck and give our full support to anyone that emerges in the end.

I’ve seen lot of Tinubu/Osinbajo haters deploying fake narratives and trying to push a kind of pro-Osinbajo rhetorics just to sow divison and I can’t but laugh.

It’s a good game tho, now we have made the conversation about Asiwaju and Osinbajo and anyone that eventually emerges will carry that notoriety to the polls. It will be too late for the political enemies to realize that they can’t undo the publicity they already showered them both with.

Lastly,
God bless Asiwaju Jagaban
God bless Yemi Osinbajo
God bless the progressives
God bless Nigeria.

It is not crap. Like you said, everyone have one benefactor that helped them at one time or another BUT it will be an act of treachery to fail to deny those who have helped us just because of politics.

Prof. Osinbajo himself is not the architect of this misinformation, it is been flaunted by enemies of Asiwaju/Osinbajo. I am just trying to set the record straight to neutrals who might be deceived by the fake rhetoric.

Lastly, Asiwaju started from the trenches, built his way up to where he currently is and pull nearly all of his comrades up to the top. Infact, most of his comrades have portfolio greater than what Asiwaju ever held and yet this man give his full support to them.

When it is now time for them to help him just this ONE time, some comrades showed a trace of ingrate. Normal in politics, coz power is a different kind of demon that corrupt even the most noble of men.

Helped him throughout the course of the journey of his career

How many people would know Osinbajo before Tinubu? How many ? Not Osinbajo the VP, Osinbajo before Lagos state government's position

This is why people don't help people to rise. When they are helped, they rise to challenge their helpers

Osinbajo is christening the ideology to Christians that t's okay to betray which isn't what we are.

Muslims are very disciplined when it comes to Master/Mentee relationship. If Osinbajo didn't learn that from Christianity, he should look to Muslims and learn

Campaign back to support Tinubu's ambition or stay out of his way, like a man with principles who never try to use the power giving to him to outshine his master

The only crime and sin Lucifer committed was trying to outshine Jehovah and God kicked him out of heaven

So that the mischief makers, those that wants to rewrite history to soothe their narratives can read and digest.

You are even going too far, if Osinbajo had not been nominated by Asiwaju as the VP, would he have had the political currency to declare for presidency. Who will even know Prof. politically wise.

However, I still salute the Prof courage. It takes a lot of gut and mental pressure defiance to finally declare to contest the presidency. The man will be going through a lot internally coz I am sure he is a good man and a part of him that knows he somehow betrayed trust will disturb his psyche.

I hope he eventually gets the ticket because his political life and relevance depends on that. If he fail to get the ticket, that is the end of him in the future political history of this nation. So he should fight like a man, he is already in this!

Everyone including Tinubu have one time or the other been helped by someone.

However, we should not fail to recognize the effort of those who helped us. That will make us an ingrate.

However, we should also not be handicapped ambitious wise because someone once helped us. We can acknowledge the help they rendered but still tell it to their face that we want to chart our own future which might clash with theirs.

The above is the main essence of this thread.

I don't see this not destroying him. We all know he won't get it. Now, this is where my fear lies. Even if Tinubu loses the ticket to let's say Buhari's son, till Tinubu dies, he will naked and be cursing him under ground that he diverted the attention from him and made him lose the ticket. This is never done. Osinbajo has been in the corridor's of power for close to 6-8 years, this is enough. One shouldn't bite the finger that feeds one in time of need. The whole world will now be looking at him, his wife, children and household as odale. He has brought big shame and problem upon himself. Those his RCCG routes pushing him are only pushing him to fall, rather than tell him the truth. The 12 Million bloc votes he assumes RCCG will give him is what will make him self-destruct, pride, greed, selfishness, unsatisfaction

You have a cogent point. Historically wise, that dent will be on his image if he lose the ticket.

His only saving grace will be to get the ticket. I am very sure he will make a good president too so I will just leave the moral aspect of his actions because it is very evident to even the blind that he is truly an odale to Asiwaju by his action.

But he is not an odale to Nigeria, so he got every right to contest. But to Asiwaju he will forever be an odale even if Asiwaju eventually step down for him in this contest.

I think we should resist the urge to make this about religion. What is playing out is the irresistible urge for power and anybody, no matter how upright religion wise can fall for it.

The president of Nigeria is such a huge global position. It is a very big deal. Nobody with a realistic chance of becoming the president of Nigeria will turn it down without consideration or even a little fight. It becomes even more irresistible when you’ve gone as far as occupying the office of the Vice President and already see yourself as the next in-line.

Rauf Aregbesola is a Muslim. At a point in his political career, he was number 2 to Tinubu in the south west. When the struggle for political power in Osun state became hot, he looked Tinubu in the face and spat on him. To me, Rauf’s treachery is far worse than whatever we may accuse Osinbajo of. So you see, it is never about religion but the irresistible urge for power. Human beings can do a lot of unthinkable and unbelievable things for power. It is what it is.

Overall, I think we should just allow things play out at the party primary. I personally, I’m not attacking any of them. They’ve been friends for over 30 years and I’m very sure they will still be friends after the election irrespective of the outcome.

Nigerians are not so forgiving. If people can dig up Awo's wrongs, dig up Beko Ransom Kuti's wrongs,, dig up Solarin's wrongs, then he better start running. I've personally trained myself to be wise by behaving myself in the sense that the day a man messes up in this generation, even if he had a trillion good deeds before, that one would bury him/her.

The world is now more brutal than it had ever been. The only way to stay afloat is by being consistently good and disciplined. He has been pushed and advised wrongly. I feel sorry for him. Presidency isn't Ogbomoso popularity contest. If PYO was given the consensus candidacy, can he finance it ? It's what happens when peope listen to too much motivational speeches. He got himself where he is, he should dig himself out. My hands nor dey

Sadly we can not. A man's actions can not be completely separated from everything he builds his life about. He has messed up, We remaining disciplined Christians must speak the truth. That's why i said, he should look to muslims, when it comes to master/mentee relationship he can learn from them. Until then, Osinbajo has learning to undertake.

Personally I al almost ashamed on behalf of my muslim brothers that good willl invested in him ended up badly. Osinbajo is a bad example to the country, society, christiandom, and all that support him will be shamed. He should be ashamed of himself.

Rauf Aregbesola was never number two to Tinubu, just like Osinbajo he got intoxicated with popularity and wanted to test it, and it was even in his stronghold in Osun he got the response. The world frowns at betrayal. Let's take it personal, no sane person will stomach what Osinbajo did to Tinubu if we were switched to take their places. We must pass the notion that it's not okay to betray, and for his actions, he must turn back and pursue humble repentance.

We must all start behaving correctly, its not okay to betray. No, it isn't. Odale ni
