why should a Nigerian HND holder go for a Direct-entry in the UK when he/she can as well be given a direct Masters program there??

Yes, apply to any UK university and send your ND/HND transcripts to them. If you have atleast 120 credit hours you have the equivalent of a Degree and would be considered for the Masters program.
