One major problem of Nigeria is tribal politicking,if not,for Jonathan to form his economic team with the likes of:Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala,Dora Akunyili,Bath Nnaji,Obiageli Ezekwesili, chukwuma soludo and Olusegun Aganga would have been one of the best option for Nigeria's economic development. But here is a country where tribalism is a common term in her dictionary.Because they are mainly igbos,it will be ignored. But why?,is there any of the names mentioned above that has not proved him or herself in handling any portfolio? and no body can give them bad record. Then why cant we forget tribal sentiments and go for the best?.

Please remove Dora Akunyili from that list. her sheer incompetence as information minister is dwarfed only by the sheer waste of taxpayers money in the brainless and imbecilic 'Rebranding' campaign.

Even if Aganga and Akunyili is removed, the botton line is tribalism cannot allow we Nigerians to choose the right people whether they are from same ethinic group or not and thats Nigeria problem.

Aganga bawo?? The man is a thief, sharing money amongst senators to get through screening for Lagos State, when he's not actually from Lagos State.

He gave N50m for GEJ's campaign at Tafawa Balewa Square, and the PDP thieves he gave it to stole the money. That's why TBS was nearly empty when GEJ went to campaign there.

Meanwhile, where did Aganga get the N50m from?? His salary?

Why is he so desperate to become a minister? Is it by force that he must steal the constitutional birthright of Lagosians. Look at the people he's been seen in public with - the imposed Mrs. Asiwaju Tinubu!!

Okonjo-Iweala and the other guys are class. GEJ had to beg Okonjo-Iweala to join him. HE HAD TO BEG!!

Meanwhile, Aganga had to beg TINUBU to get through screening. Na wa for Nigeria, with all this 3rd rate "technocrats" that don't have a place of origin!!! Oh yes, that's why he gets on well with Tinubu. They are both usurpers from places they are ashamed of.

At least we know Okonjo-Iweala - she is a Princess in her place. Soludo too is very well known in his village, as is Dora Akunyili. Nnaji is a proud and able Iboman.

Where is Aganga from Why is he hiding his heritage?

I only rate Ezekwesili out of them, Nnaji is too focused on selling PHCN ( he should push for deregulation and liberalization), Okonjo Iweala will probably pay her bosses the debt we are owing them, Soludo will look the other way when guys are acting dubious, Dora is a chameleon who is only concerned about political survival and Aganga is a nonentity.
They are all brilliant individuals sha o.

Trust me, Aganga is not fit to wipe the shoes of any of these guys, professionally or in terms of personal integrity. He is a slithering reptile!!!

Is  prof Nnaji not an Engineer?. What will he possibly contribute in the economic sector?. Also, is Dora not  a pharmacist? What can she possibly contribute to the economic sector?.
The problem with Nigerians is they believe too much on paper qualification. That's why they appointed Prof Iwu(a successful research scientist) to man their elections when there are more experienced hands who can do the job.

A combination of Aganga, Iweala,Sanusi and Soludo should help our economy assuming the African factor didn't take precedence and by the African factor, I mean: I am better and more educated than you syndrome. You may be surprised that the giant four mentioned above will waste the next four years fighting for who is more superior by issuing counter orders and end up achieving nothing.

For those of you calling Aganga a thief, what property of yours has he stolen before?. The international world sure admires Aganaga more than his Nigerian folks and shame on you for being that way.

Another hare-brained thread for self-aggrandizement.

If you cannot look in the mirror here is what it will show you if you ever dare: this thread started by you is the exact definition of tribalism.

Heyyyy!!!! Look at this anuofia!!!

You think managing director at Goldman Sachs is a big deal? Your village is definitely missing its resident idiat !! Otimkpu like you!!
For your information, there are 1500 managing directors of Goldman Sachs worldwide. He's not any type of unique.

There's something fundamentally wrong with someone who denies his roots and tries to appropriate another. Something deep seated, some kind of self-loathing that may well be justified. I hope it doesn't take Mr. President too long to find him out.

He should be nowhere near money, and that's the truth.

Out here in the West See this compound fool! You think living in the "west" is a big deal? Egbe oshi!! If I hear pim from you again, you go hear am for this forum. eeediottt!!!

IMO, i think Soludo is the best brain Nigeria has ever produced. Not minding his lapses in not check mating some of the dubious bankers, Generally, that guy is so brainy, well endowed with massive fore-sight, and amongst  all   his skulduggery in pushing for his reforms.

check out his landmarks

* consolidation= who ever tot it wud happen, arm twisted these politico-bank owners to adhere to a reform that wud protect the poor masses deposit. who tot it will let alone be a success.

* Introduction of polymer naira note to our most used denomination.

*  The ill-fated proposal for a seamless upward review of our currency to tame inflation and save money from paper currency production.

*  compelling every bank to have presence in every of the 36 states- this singular act ushered in the massive recruitment and actual jobs to the teeming labour market.

*  compelled banks to integrate their various branches accounts , so that a person who opens an account in lagos then happened to be moved to another state didn't have to always go to Lagos, same branch to mk a withdrawal.

* encouraged Nigerian banks to spread all over the world, dominating various economies - serrie lone, liberia, gambia, providing essenstial services and massive financial clot and gain for Nigerian and her businesses .

* mandating every bank to have an affiliate with a foreign western bank to ease money transfer; this act reduced the time it took to mk transfers from a little over 30 days to 3 working days. massively help businesses to process their goods , as well as postgraduate student mking tuition fees payments.

* what else. .   .   .

* was on the verge of doling out a segment of our foreign reserve to our well performing local banks to manage.

* sanusi said he also made provision for banks who might be interested in running islamic banking NON-INTEREST BANKING, laying the frame work and modalities  .

* sorted out our statistics office. monthly performance indexes were duly published. KPIs outlined.

* . .  .  ,  . i can keep going to like two pages, however the question is

WHAT HAS AGANGA, SANUSI AND THE PAST FOUR TO FIVE CBN GOVERNORS ACHIEVED OR EVEN CONCEIVED ?

Sincerely, it is a shame, a very big shame Soludo is not in GEJ government!

If there is anybody qualified to be in the FEC its Nkem Dora Akunyili for her courage and examplary leadership style in NAFDAC and Ministry of Info. Again another good thing that has happened to Nigeria is Chukwuma Soludo, is among the best resource in Africa and world at large. Ngozi Iweala is a giant colossus to manage Nigeria finance. As for Olusegun Aganga I have not seen any meaningful thing he has achieved in his Ministry so far.

Obi Ezekwesili is another heavyweight that should be recalled from world bank to come home to help strengthen the Nigeria economic strategy. I could still remember when she was DG of due process. Infact OBJ knew where he could find the very best brains in Nigeria, no wonder he went to the Igboland to source for it. The SE Economic Squad

The tribalism of most of you guys will never allow you to be objective. You guys keep shouting that Aganga is not on the same level with those on the list simply because he is the only non-igbo on that list. Apart of Okonjo, Aganga is the only person of note on the list to have achieved anything of note in their professional carreer. His only mistake was opting to serve in a Jonathan administration with its prolifigracy (based on electoral ambition) and Jonathan's inability to checkmate the greed of lawmakers was expenses are so much that there is not much money left for development. Ofcourse Ngozi is now making the same mistake as Aganga, and we wait to see how she becomes rubbished.

One thing is clear. Jonathan is not Obasanjo. Those guys achieve some level of success in the Obasanjo administration only because they have the big man behind them. Let us see if they are able to replicate the same level of success with Jona boy! Infact they will be lucky if they are able to escape Jonathan's administration with their integrity intact.
