At times we find ourselves baffled by why we’re so attracted to the very species we’d rather avoid.

We’ve all dated some duds, players, or commitment freaks along the way.

It’s important to examine our role in scaring away all of our potential partners if it appears that we’re building a habit of being single.

Doing any of the following is a surefire way to turn a guy off:

1. Having too much information at one’s fingertips
You shouldn’t give up your daily plans or rearrange your entire life and schedule to accommodate a man. This isn’t about playing games or being a pushover.

As long as the woman you’re dating has ambitions and independence, a real gentleman wants to hear about it. It not only causes him to compete with you for your attention, but it also commands respect from you.

2. Loss of personal autonomy

Being a feminist or frightened to be vulnerable isn’t the point; the point is understanding your worth and not sacrificing your aspirations and desires to please a man.

In order to be complete and able to give back in a relationship, it’s critical to nourish and retain your identity as an individual.

3. Refusing to give up on your goals
Women who have a sense of purpose and aren’t scared to pursue it are once again admired by males. Your partner may lose respect and interest in you if you give up everything and become a meek “yes lady.”

4. Nagging is a big no-no in this category!
Men

There is nothing more annoying than being nagged at. When you berate your partner on a regular basis, you’re practically telling him that he’s not good enough for you. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that using positive language has a positive effect.
