You're likely to have come across many types of discounts and promotions if you shop online often. These can range from order specific to upsell and trial offers to pay plan discounts. Each type of promotion can have a different set of criteria. You can combine them to offer your customers the best deal. For example, you could offer a customer a BetterHelp Promo code on any order when they sign up for a subscription plan. Date Range When you use Manage Promo Codes, you can stack multiple promo codes to save your customers money. However, different discount criteria can only be used once. Date Range and Order Total promo codes cannot be combined. Also, the quantity requirement must be different to create a valid discount. Quantity requirement is great for running volume pricing deals or specials on overstocked products. You can stack more discount criteria by creating a new list in the Date Range field. Promo Code Some businesses create discounts that only apply to certain segments of their customers. They can set a minimum purchase amount but not all purchases are eligible for free shipping. A minimum purchase amount can be either a dollar amount or a specific number of items. Other businesses set a maximum dollar value per customer. Using the same discount code multiple times will not limit the number of times a customer can use it, as long as the customer enters the same email address and phone number. Only recurring orders are subject to the one-time limit. Some subscription programs offer discounts for recurring orders, provided there have been no previous purchases. However, in many cases, the same customer may apply the same discount code multiple times. In some cases, you can let them use a discount code even before they've finished checking out. Some codes require you to enter the promo code only after certain steps have been completed, such as entering the shipping or billing addresses or entering the customer’s credit card information. In either case, you should be cautious not to place an order before you've entered a discount code. You must follow the rules when creating a promotion. Some discount codes are limited to 200 uses. Although this restriction may seem excessive, it is important because it limits the discounts that a customer can receive. Some sites limit how many times a customer may use the same discount code. However, some sites have no limit, so they're fine. Before you start looking for coupons, calculate how much shipping costs will increase the total. You can compare this cost to the discount amount, which is especially useful if you have a small order. It's always best to check shipping costs before purchasing a product online. For larger orders, a fixed discount might be more advantageous. You can also search for coupons that offer free shipping if you aren't sure.
