Why wud any "lady" go drink alone in a "hotel" of all places? Hotel drinks get special taste, what happened to pubs and restaurants |

ifyalways: Exactly!!! No be us women! I don't know any woman who likes to relax alone; she'd prefer to either have company of a man or another woman |

@ Topic I don't know about that. Well, there arre thousands of hotels all over the place, so I guess one or two of them might prefer to be allergic to unaccompanied females. What I do know is that most hotels (especially from 3-star downwards) do not permit people (especially unaccompanied ladies) to sit idly in their bar/restaurants without BUYING SOMETHING. And that's because most of these stingy ladies often sit in hotel bars gaping around foolishly for a guy that would buy them a drink and take them away; even to buy ordinary Maltina, dem no fit. But as long as they can buy drinks/food for themselves, then why not? |

@Pro01 And that's because most of these stingy ladies often sit in hotel bars gaping around foolishly for a guy that would buy them a drink and take them away; even to buy ordinary Maltina, dem no fit. I like your point, at least then u have an objective reason to select who you want to patronise your business or not, and not some arbitrary discriminatory reason. |

A single lady relaxing and sipping beer alone in the bar is nothing but pure Man hustlers. Except she request for soft drink, though still not acceptable , Hotel management wouldn't like to tarnish their image or risk the life of their guest. Some girls are determine to penetrate and kill once and for all, and when the did has been done, you will only hear the name of the hotel and the victim involved. Security wise, it is not wise except the lady is lodged in the hotel. Several people have been defraud with this simple tricks, especially in Abuja is very common practice by ladies. But why should a single lady went to big hotel to have drink without having something fishy in mind |

I do not believe that story!! Well , maybe if it is in the north where I have not been to before, maybe, but I doubt that!!! I have been to a lot of classy and less classy hotels in Lagos and Abuja and never have I noticed this story you just told!! Even in the East, as long as you are not disturbing any guest with your 'wares' nobody will harass you!! |

I am pretty sure the dressing and appearance of this ladies have something to do with it. Hotels are out to make profit. however, they need to keep their image as well to attract their planned customer at the commencement of business. So the ladies need to check them sef jare *** |

PoRRa!!!: What is good for the goose is also good for the gender. There is nothing wrog with a woman going to unwind in a hotel, provided she has no sinister plan. |

Lady pictured below: Can I get a glass of scotch on the rocks, hommie? Bartender DayoKanu: Omoge, can I give you a free room? Lady: Why do you want to give me the room for free? Bartender DayoKanu: Because that is what we do for un accompanied ladies Lady: Okay, that will work. 2 months later: The hotel is running a deficit because of numerous services they provided that were not recorded. These ladies come in, drink, eat and sleep for free because yeye bartenders and hotel managers like Dayo Kanu are in charge. That is why they don't want single ladies anymore. |

Re: Single Ladies Discriminated Against By Hotels In Nigeria by slymm(f): 7:08pm On Jul 10, 2011 |
Only a prostitute will hang out alone at hotel bars, there is no other explanation for such behaviour. IMHO, high class hotels do not need this embarassment, they allready have their little black book of expensive prostitutes that can be arranged for any guest who chooses, they certainly do not need the hustlers on the street. |

I sincerely understand how the woman that wants to sue the hotel must feel. I attended a conference at Abuja about 5years ago and was lodged at Sheraton. It was the same period with the full Gospel Business Men fellowship Convention and as a member I decided to attend the meetings in the evening after the business conference. On the way back one evening a couple shared my taxi back to Sheraton since it was crowded and was difficult for them to get one To my amazement, at Sheraton gate, I was asked to come down from the taxi to allow the couple to continue that I could not be allowed in! I had to show the gateman my room key before he believed I was staying at the hotel, I think I even had to show my ID card. The couple did not have to answer one single question. The annoying thing which I told the man was that guesst are usually asked to drop their keys on their way out, what if I had dropped mine? That means I would have had to stay at the gate untill he could confirm taht I was truely staying there? ofcourse the couple and the taxi driver went on and on about why the hotel had to do it,like many people are doing on this thread but they were not the ones being harrased so they had no clue what it felt like |

Yes is true. I used to hang out in some of the hotels here in Abuja and i noticed that. I think those girls are mostly sex hockers who are using these hotels as their hideout waiting for the main time for work. |
Re: Single Ladies Discriminated Against By Hotels In Nigeria by Nobody: 5:32pm On Jul 11, 2011 |
pure madness. if the hotels don't want these ashewo girls in their hotel, only allow those who are staying at the hotel to use the bar. simple. |

If these "Single" ladies can foot their own bills in the hotels of their choice without loitering around aimlessly or constituting a nuisance to themselves or the hotel, it could be the Burj' Al Arab for all i care, i don't see why they should be discriminated against. Also,me thinks,if you're really not interested in bedding a hooker, you can without solving a quantum equation in physics. As par suing the hotels in Nigeria On the other hand, though, (basing my sentiments on some female posts i've seen on here tonight), i'd be inclined to say if its been established that this whole shit-niz has somewhat become more or less a fixed trend, perhaps due to the experiences had by the Hotels' staff and management, they retain the ultimate power to make decisions affecting their operation, All they're gon need as back-up is just a legal team capable of pulling legal stunts. |

20 girls? At the entrance? That must be a really nice looking brothel, not an hotel. But then out of 20 babes (of varying shapes and sizes), you would surely have 'wanted' at least one. |
Re: Single Ladies Discriminated Against By Hotels In Nigeria by lexander(m): 1:23pm On Jul 12, 2011 |
Correct me if i'm wrong, its okay for a i guy to buy a drink at a hotel bar, but if a lady walks in there automatically she a hustler and is refused service. Thats just plain rubbish |
Re: Single Ladies Discriminated Against By Hotels In Nigeria by smokeyupu(m): 1:42pm On Jul 12, 2011 |
Its not their fault really. There are so many girls out there looking for men and they believe that a guy who can afford to pay for lodgings in our rather "expensive" hotels can pay for some extra comfort. The situation is not peculiar to Nigeria only. Last year while we were in Ghana, we noticed same at the hotel we stayed. Watch the movie "THE I stayed at Eko Hotel some time back and you cant believe the number of girls lurking around the car parks just looking for any man. They even expose some patrs of their bodies to help you decide. Can't blame them. Its the politicians who have led this country down the path of poverty and lack that are to blame. ALL IS WELL!!!!! |
Re: Single Ladies Discriminated Against By Hotels In Nigeria by N101: 7:38pm On Jul 12, 2011 |
tivta: Besides women are not know for hanging out at hotels ALONE to drink. If they wish to drink they most often than not hang out with female friends at least. Even rich women dont hangout at hotels, they prefer resturants so as to eat and chill. This is common with girls around the world(Fact) if girls really want to 'chill' they hangout at clubs and not hotels. I believe you dont support this cause its the only way you meet women. Why not try church, eatery or even if you want shorttime the best place is the club and not hotel. Nuff said. @ bold, I can only presume you haven't been around much. Unlike in Nigeria, it is not unusual in some countries for a woman to go to a bar on her own and buy her own drinks. And just because two women on NL would not go to a hotel bar on their own does not make it true for all women in Nigeria. Some may choose to go to a hotel because they like the ambience and feel safe from the "predators" they may meet elsewhere - but I'm sure you would never thought of it like that. Pro01 makes a very valid point - if a woman is going to patronise a hotel bar she should be expected, like every other patron, to buy something rather than wait for someone to pay for her drink. THAT is what makes her suspicious and more likely to be a LovePeddler. In hotel bars I've ever visited you can't use the bar unless you're a paying guest, escorted by a guest or meeting someone there. Even if you are waiting for or meeting someone, you have to buy something to stay there. Simple. And you can't hang around with an empty glass. No one wants to be in a hotel bar bothered by LovePeddlers touting for business like it's a bus park. |
