GOV. UZODIMMA REASSURES ORLU ZONE OF SAFETY AND DEVELOPMENT

His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has reassured the safety of lives and properties of Orlu zone and the *State* at large.

Governor Hope Uzodimma in his expression of concern on the happenings in the region, made the affirmation at the Orlu Zone Development Forum Summit on Peace and Development held at Nkwerre Country Club.

At the peace and development summit, the Governor had warned aggrieved Politicians to embrace peace and shun sponsorship of *violence.*

To such politicians he said, ‘’I cannot be intimidated because I have come to serve and would like to be remembered for good governance and lasting legacies that will mark me out from other politicians who are self-centered and self-seeking."

The Governor advised the Forum on the need to set-up a think-tank that would develop a blue-print on the needed sustained peace and development in Orlu.

The Governor further reiterated his divine mandate and leadership from God on Ndi Imo as he will not fail God or the people of Imo State to ensure peace and development not only to the Orlu region but the entire State.

Present at the summit were The Deputy Governor, Professor Placid Njoku, and Government Officials, Chief Ralph Obioha, Prof. M O Iwuala, Prof. Francis Eze, the Chairman of Imo State Council of Elders, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, the former Chairman, National Population Commission, Barr. Eze Duruiheoma (SAN), former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, RT. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu (Deputy Speaker IMHA) and a host of illustrious sons and daughters from Orlu Region.

Uzodinma, go and build Imo state axis of the Ihiala-orlu road, the Imo part of that road is the worst road in the entire South East with pit holes large enough to swallow cars and buses.

Anambra people even as an opposition state have built their own part of the road while you sleep, wine and dine with FG at the center yet can't attract development to your own zone in Imo state but only death and destruction. Aren't you ashamed?

The road cuts through Ihiala LGA to Orsu LGA all the way to Orlu, these are towns where you send soldiers to kill people everyday. The road is also plied by travellers from Lagos, Abuja, Onitsha, etc going to Umuahia, Akwa Ibom, Calabar etc.

Progress, resistance against tyranny, the land that was never invaded by the federal forces during the war but accomodated fellow Igbo kins from Onitsha, Asaba, Enugu, PH etc when those cities fell to Gowon's vandals in the thick of the war.
