Which kain biology are u practicing? A human being that has a heartbeat is what u are calling parasite. Av u eva heard the heartbeat of bacteria, virus, etc. Pls, go and read up again on conception.

@Blank, I understand more than you think. But if a young girl of about 14yrs got violated by more than one guy and she ended up pregnant, will you advise that she should keep it?? is it not better for her to abort it and move on with her life. I will love your opinion on this and I'll go on from there.

Even if she is stupid, the hospital should not be stupid. There is such a thing as the morning after pill that can be taken up to 72hrs after sex that still stops conception. Are you trying to tell me that conception ocurrs immediately someone has sex? Why would u want to wait 4 weeks, realise you are pregnant and start talking about abortion?

That being said, if the mother's life is at risk due to the pregnancy ie medical reasons only then can u even justify it a bit. Not that some two iidiots forget to use protection and then the bigger iidiot doesnt even try to reduce the risks of being pregnant.

The first post was so touching, but also disconcerting for me to admit that it's rather easy to sit on the fence on a matter like this. Babies are conceived under different circumstances - both pleasant and unpleasant, which then begs the question "is the child responsible? Can an unborn child be blamed for its own conception?" I think we can all agree that the answer is no. Acting on this premise, it's probably safe to say that killing a child is wrong.

There are however medical reasons to embark on abortions - For example, in cases where science is able to reveal that a child will be severely deformed or plagued by incurable diseases such as HIV/Sickle Cell, etc

In some other cases, you see women bringing children into a life of extreme poverty  - they end up dying at birth due to malnutrition or living lives far beneath what children should be subjected to. Does this however give us the right to end such lives at conception?

Parents on the other hand should learn to act responsibly by preventing unwanted pregnancies, because in the end, they are the human custodians of such lives. It's far easier to play safe than to carry the weight of the "perceived murder" of a child on your conscience.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there's no easy answer - we can't cast an absolute answer of "abortion is wrong" or "abortion is right" without creating victims.

@Blank, but what if out of fear and shame, she couldn't tell anyone, so she kept it to herself until after 2 or 3 weeks until she couldn't see her monthly which meant that she was pregnant She is only an innocent 14yrs old and does not know anything about morning pill or morning after

Have you watched the video clip of abortion in progress? Try to watch it and see a matured foetus trying to grap the surgical instrument, then reality will stare in the face. I watched it when I was in FUTA and I saw a foetus eye like that of yours and mine. And from what I read in the book, they said foetus starts feeling the pains at the fifth month and that is why it is a crime to abort pregnancy that has entered fifth month in some developed countries. Opt for prevention instead of abortion.

I think abortion could be called murder depending on the stage of pregnancy.

If a pregnancy is 2 weeks old, an ultra-sound cannot make out the foetus let alone hear the heatbeat. The only evidence of pregnancy would be the blood test.

There is a drug ladies take if they suspect they are 2 weeks pregnant without even going to a specialist (cant remember the name now, but it starts with a G.) All that happens here is that the foetus is flushed out in the form of blood. Is this murder?

From 4 weeks upwards, the foetus begins to develop. I think it is safe to categorize this as murder because there is actually a heartbeat at this stage.

Judging from all I have read here on NL today, I would say that taking birth control pills is murder because in this scenario, the sperm is killed which makes the unfertilised egg to come out in form of the menstural cycle, hence killing the egg as well.

Im open to corrections and not insults. Thank you.

I won't justify that abortion is right or not

I will just say this. We Nigerians are fond of pointing accusing fingers at offenders all the time. Have we ever stopped to think about our own self, shortcomings and how to improve on our lives.

On the last day, we shall all account for ourselves. As we speak we can't say accurately that the man that climbs the alter or the choir master are the ones that would make it to heaven. It might be the lady that committed abortion that would get there simply because she lived a sincere life, corrected her mistake and helped souls in need.

Off course it is wrong to take a life but I wont want to judge anyone as I have not finished cleaning the sin in my own life. Just because your own strafing didn't form a baby doesn't justify that u are not a sinner too.Everyone has their lives to live and everyone has made mistakes due to several circumstance beyond their control.

This is a creative writing that doesn't deserve any harsh criticism. Just read and understand it in ur own way. Just Let it flow and give it your own meaning or title.

I don't agree with the highlighted cos what your saying is that if an egg is not fertilized, it means u aborted the baby. U can't kill what has not been formed. Doesn't follow logically to me.

Nobody has mentioned choir master or pastor. Not even talking about sin or the absence of it. Talking about a baby being killed. My strafing wont have produced a baby cos i used protection till i am ready to have a kid. Not using protection but deciding to kill the baby as a form of protection is actually the issue here not sin.

Everyone Sins! Heck! Even a New Born Baby is Born a sinner! Yes a person that Commited abortion can clean up later and Live a Good Life! God Forgives ALL!
