Peter Obi is no doubt the only sensational phenomenon in the upcoming presidential election. It is obvious that his interest in the Nigerian presidency is giving urchins and their sponsors sleepless nights. This is a man with ideas, visions and actionable plans such as has NEVER been seen in this country since the first republic when Nigeria had men with vision at the helm of affairs. Obi is bad news for the everyday mediocre that is the Nigerian political class. This is why none is ready and willing to face him in the field and are rather using underhand tactic to de-market him. You wouldn't blame these mediocre politicians and their hired hands if you have presence on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter.

Like Britannia, Obi is ruling the waves of the Nigerian political space on Twitter. No other politician comes close. Since Twitter is the platform where the most objectively incisive discourse take place, the best minds in the country have come to a consensus that Obi presidency is needed to lift the country out of the cycle of retrogression, rot and directionless leadership that has beleaguered the country for more than 5 decades. Since Obi's traducers cannot match the intellectual and factual debate on Twitter, they have resorted to platforms such as Facebook groups and Nairaland to de-market Obi. Here is what I have noticed:

Politician's urchins are aware that Obi is the only presidential candidate with national appeal based on reproducible organic interest. This is a guy that isn't doling out cash like the Nigerian conventional politician, yet nearly all reasonable Nigerians that want to escape the cycle of mediocrity are all backing and campaigning for him. So Obi has been the central focus in Urchins WhatsApp Group. Thee chaps all have about 10 alt accounts each on Nairaland. They would select a topic to discredit Obi, post and announce on their WhatsApp group. Then these urchins would quickly post their negative comments against Obi and also use their alt accounts to like all the negative comments against the man. The idea is to create the false impression that people on Nairaland are different from the Nigerians on Twitter where Obi has become like a tsunami.

They also discuss and notify their fellow urchins when a post about Obi has been published on Nairaland, so that they could quickly respond negatively and like their falsehood against the man with all their alt accounts. Unfortunately, they do cannot do this on Twitter where the algorithm is smarter. You also notice them calling on moderators to push anti-Obi rants to the front page of Nairaland.
The strategy is simple...They post and announce and like their falsehood. They did this in 2015 and fooled Nigerians. Let's see how they will succeed with lies after they've been busted with Buhari.

Wow... Obi is really giving these urchins sleepless nights. My question is, why are they scared of Obi? Is it because they're aware that their principals are bereft of ideas on how to solve the many problems bedeviling Nigeria?

Please do not let urchins deceive you.

He's popular among Igbo folks no doubt but Tinubu is the most popular politician in Africa as we speak. He controls the discussions amongst even the opposition.

Exactly op. I have noticed that the likes are not organic but deliberately targeted and manipulated.

A bmc member like leodeslave will post an anti obi comment and get over 100likes in a page with just 270 views. Meanwhile another tinubu supporter who is not a bmc member will post same anti obi rhetoric and have only 3 likes despite commenting first before Leodeslave.

This is exactly what they did pre 2015 election to deceive nigerians

You're being economical with the truth. Tinubu CANNOT win Obi in a fair contest. He won't come close.

This is exactly what they did with Buhari. Unfortunately for them, they've exhausted their bag of tricks in 2015. These days, it's so easy to bust them.

As a neutral person, would you rather prefer Anambra level of development or Lagos level of development?

Lagos has no development aside from what the FG did there as a capital, just like Abuja.

I am presently writing an article on the achievement of both peter Obi n Bola Tinubu. You can sit down n write one yourself to understand Peter Obi is a gross failure when put toe to toe with Bola Tinubu. Take for example

Economy - Bola Tinubu took Lagos from a city jam parked with Molue to the 5th economy in the whole of Africa. What did Peter Obi achieve in economy except claim he left money while accuring more debt than he left.

Employment - Teachers doctors went on strike close to a year under Peter Obi from 1999 till date that as never happened in Lagos.

Security - Tinubu created rapid response, neighborhood watch Lasma Kai n many other to secure Lagos while Peter supervised the mass slaughter of his own people in Azu river, Onitsha was the den of criminals kidnappers all under him.

Many of your Igbos life is just riddled with acute stupidity n foolishness when you compare the 2 personalities. Them no be mate if you dare to be objective. Just sit down n do critical comparism.

Make we never talk IGR, Empowerment, Waste Management, Transportation etc. I beg the gap Tinubu gave Peter Obi is way to wild to be debated. Only a mad human being will claim Obi is beta.

Tinubu turned Victoria island from the residential area it was to the most productive Central business district in West Africa.

Tinubu opened up the Lekki corridor and drove investments in that direction, all the way to Epe.

The Lekki Free Trade zone was his idea.

Eko Atlantic City was Tinubu's idea.

Lekki port was also conceived by Tinubu.

Dangote Refinery was attracted to the State under his watch.

Ikeja was revived as a thriving business district under his administration.

Villagers trying to rub shoulders with people far more exposed and knowledgeable than they are has to be something we'll learn to live with on this forum.
