The ovation is getting louder by the day for Igbos to produce the president in 2023 and the separatists would end up making massive political gains if/when Igbos are sidelined again. It would be one too many and there won't be any excuse anymore. The separatists would finally enjoy massive support and clear conscience.

Let's assume you are right to say so.

Your answer to these questions would determind if you are ready to debate logically.

If Northerners forget the past, and forgive you Igbos and support you to have the power, wouldn't retalliate what we did you?

Would Igbo president forget the past, forgive the North and put tribalism behind in order to develop Nigeria like Mandela?

Would Igbo president not reduce Northern states through restructuring?

Would Igbo president 4 EXAMPLE not repeat Ironsi's damage?

Do you love Nigeria?

You mean repeal ironsi's damage

Now is the time to really know how much the North wants Nigeria to remain as one. As for Yorubas, they obviously don't care if Nigeria breaks up, they're even silently praying for it, even though they don't want to be involved in the risk. However, if Igbos are able to force the collapse of Nigeria, they would gladly walk away! THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND THAT IS WHY NORTH HAVE TO BE CAREFUL IN JOINING THEM TO CALL THE BLUFF OF SEPARATISTS!!!

Initially i thought this was going to be some tribal bashing but its the truth. Southwest don't care whatever happens to Nigeria, the region strongly regrets what was done to destroy the original structure but is doing everything to go where ever the flow goes different with back up plans

Oh yes it did. It is affecting Nigeria badly, and will affect it more. One of the reasons why food prices are on the increase is as a result of the troubles in the north. That takes more money away from your pocket in the south. Money that you would have used to advance other areas of your life. But in terms of direct violence, they started out in Bornu, now they are in Kaduna and Niger. Kwara and Abuja may be next, then Oyo. What is left? At that point, the South West will start clamoring massively for cessation, and it just goes on.

Where most of us are getting it wrong is that we are thinking in terms of 5 years 10 years. But that's not how people should think. What about in a 100 years? Your grand children would be around then. But because we are very much like our leaders, the future doesn't matter. What matters is now.

The people who built the western nations we are all craving to have did not enjoy most of it, but they set up foundational principles that built the civilization their people are enjoying today.

What foundational principles are our leaders building our nation upon today? Tribalism and hatred put in place by our forbearers. And you think if we continue that way we would have a wonderful nation in future.

My guy life no dey work like that.

Tribalism was not put in place by our forefathers, it came with the package called nigeria. What do you expect when different nations are joined together under the rule of force? Please study deep history and see what you will get

RESTRUCTURING, is the way out! Now that we no more have regions, each state should be independent; managing their resources. There has to be devolution of power from the federal to the states.

Op,you are just leaking the secret most reasonable igbos have kept from the shallow one nigerianists in this forum.as it stands in the east now,the separatists are in control.the agitation is in the radical phase.youth are now angry with the older generation of politicians accusing them of hampering the biafran project by selling them out to nigeria establishment. And there is this scary feeling that in no time the seething anger among the biafran youths will explode into a full blown armed confrontration btween Nigeria state and the biafran youth, one bigger and more brutal than the present ugm minor fracas.so most biafrans are wishing that igbos are denied the presidency thereby giving the separatists the moral motivation and justification to go for the kill.

About your first question, there is no indication that an Igbo president would want to radically change the polity. To be honest with you, Igbos by default love Nigeria in PRACTICE than others that claim to love Nigeria with mouth. If not for injustice, Igbos won't be championing the break up of Nigeria. What happened between 1966 and 1970 is a past we can't change, it has happened and it is now part of our history. Tutsis suffered worse in Rwanda and a huge percentage of their population were wiped out. However, the Hutus were sorry for what happened and today, a Tutsi has been ruling for years now while there are national holidays and memorials to remember the victims of the genocide.

Someone like Peter Obi will be too preoccupied in turning around the economic fortunes of Nigeria to have time for any retaliatory plans against North. Would he even have the capacity to take such decisive actions? When the North still dominate both the army and Senate?

If anything, Peter Obi would be passionate about being remembered for salvaging Nigeria than anything else. The only question is, would the North/Nigerians not try to undermine him?

About whether I love Nigeria? I did in the past and still do but CONDITIONALLY. Nigeria has dragged everyone down because of bad leadership. I would prefer a working Nigeria than balkanization and vice versa. Because balkanization would also bring up certain issues. However, God forbid that things will continue deteriorating like this without solution.

They have investments throughout the North....so, yes, they also have all to lose. Igbos should learn to negotiate!
the negotiations you don't want to accept, hypocrites, changing goal post all the time

no one loves Nigeria more than the Igbo man his business is paramount to him the Nigeria project gives him the market, igbos are progressive and easily forgives so long as he will make progress but if you continue to hold him down he will continue to remember the past, Nigerias don't really know an Igbo man is, he is a progressive
