We Are Partnering Anambra State Govt to Build Low Cost Houses, Transportation Scheme, Revamp TRACAS - Elite Investors Boss

By Mmaduabuchi Onwumelu

The Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of Elite Investors Limited, Chief Godwin Ifeanyichukwu Okafor, says they are into building projects and ready to partner Anambra State Government to build affordable houses, transportation, agriculture and as well finance projects in the state.

Addressing newsmen in Awka, the Group Managing Director of the company, Prince Eze Ude said they floated the company to partner with the current Anambra state government to build projects that would benefit Ndi Anambra people.

'If you watch through his campaign, he said he will embark on people project and people oriented administration where everyone will have input in what the government is doing, this is the idea behind d the establishment of the company to contribute our quota in the administration.

He said they were coming fromnthe private investor and that no government could do it alone without private investor, saying that they needed an enabling environment and good platform, hence their confidence to come to the state and invest their resources.

'We want to partner and build low cost housing scheme, so masses can get affordable accommodation, like in Awka because houses are cost and civil servants cannot even afford it, dislodge ghetto to fight criminality,' he said.

'It would be recalled that after swearing in, the government went to Okpoko to clean up the area. 'dislodge them, decentralise in the 3 central senatorial zones, we have visited Igbariam, Achalla, Umunze and the communities are willing to partner with government and private investors to thrive… it will br about development

He said they want to float transportation scheme, if well planned with the state it would be like BRT in Lagos State.

'We have submitted 5000 new housing projects in each of the zones… we put 10 years mortgage on it, partnering with federal mortgage bank to enable our client buy into it. It will be less burden to subscribers that have something doing…

'School, hospital, fire service, market, roads, and other amenities, Government gives 10 per cent subsidy, means of livelihood to buy into it… the idea is to help masses and not build for rich men… there will be measures to forestall malpractices, speculate our property we will checkmate them…

'Timelines - 2years, partner with financial institutions and foreign partners, after housing, we can move to transportation and then, agriculture.

'Partner government to revamp TRACAS, to assist the masses, the idea initiated by Babaginda. TRACAS does not maintain the standard, Loss of concepts, vehicle is franchised, none is owned by the TRACAS, to revamp it, it does not stop other transporters from doing their businesses.

With transportation scheme, Awka will be decongested once there is a means to come and go back. Decentralise development, to make it Africa Dubai, government cannot do it alone, the government is a technocrat,' he concluded.
