The Independent National Electoral Commission would continue to reject requests by political parties for the extension of deadline for the conduct of their primaries because it would contravene the timetable and schedule of activities for the general elections earlier released, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mike Igini, said on Wednesday. https://punchng.com/extension-of-primaries-deadline-not-possible-says-inec-commissioner/ 3 Likes

They should round off these primaries abeg, we've had enough of this stage. We want to move over to defection stage, then to aggressive campaign stage. 3 Likes |

This one APC and PDP are playing hide and seek with each other, if they are not careful one or both of them will miss the deadline or fall short of one major law that will make them intelligible like zamfara and river governor election in the last election 3 Likes |

INEC under it's current chairman is the worst thing to happen to our chances of getting the right people elected into office. INEC cannot extend deadline to give participant chance to contest , yet they give themselves seemingly unlimited time to conclude and announce results of elections. Very useless INEC chairman. |

The deadline should not be changed. Let everyone go out there and slug it out. I know Tilumpoo will never make it past the primaries.

GenBuhari: This current INEC Boss is far more stringent on political parties than all the former ones. INEC has never been this disciplined in the history of Nigeria. Sir, it seems you have just come out from a long period of unconsciousness. |

You seem to have not read my entire post. The hypocrisy of having stringent timetables for participants to join the election but fails to have any time limits for INEC to conclude the elections and announce the results. Also amount of results that are contested suggests a failure of INEC fulfil their brief of providing democratic, free, fair and credible elections. LasgidyPort: |
