It's no longer news that ASUU has extended the strike for 3 months and with the look of things, there is no guarantee of it being called off soon.

It's both good news and bad news.

What do I need to do so that ASUU doesn't SUU my future? Two things you can do is;
1. Get a Job
2. Learn a skill and Monetize.

Getting a job that pays well is difficult when you even get one transportation and feeding takes much of it.

Learning a skill is not enough, but knowing how to monetise what you learn is what could give you the freedom you desire.

These skills are inflation-proof. You can also use it as a side hustle.
But mind you, it will take a lot of dedication, discipline, and focus from you.

Some of the high-income skills you can learn from the comfort of your home are as below;

1. Copywriting: This skill is number 1 for any trying to sell online needs to know and master. Copywriting means selling with words or salesmanship in print.

2. Social Media Marketing: Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms and websites to promote a product or service.

3. Content creation: Content creation is the contribution of information to any media and, most especially, to digital media for an end-user/audience in specific contexts.

4. Amazon Kindle Publishing: Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) is Amazon’s book publishing platform that can be used to self-publish a book online, which readers can purchase as an eBook or print-on-demand book. It is one of the top self-publishing companies and currently dominates the self-publishing book market.

5. WhatsApp Marketing: WhatsApp marketing is a type of messenger marketing, which implies promoting a brand through WhatsApp. This channel helps brands reach an enormous audience, build strong relationships with customers, and increase sales.

6. Sales funnel: A sales funnel is a marketing concept that maps out the journey a customer goes through when making any kind of purchase.

7. Email marketing: Email marketing is a form of marketing that can make the customers on your email list aware of new products, discounts, and other services. It can also be a softer sell to educate your audience on the value of your brand or to keep them engaged between purchases. It can also be anything in between.

8. Affiliate marketing: This is a business model where you stand as a middleman between a buyer and seller and get paid a commission when an action is completed.

The question some might ask is how can I monetize?

There are different ways to monetize your new skills and these include;
1. Freelancing: This is a method of offering your service to a marketplace like Fiverr, Upwork etc. and getting paid.

2. Teaching people the self-same skills but I won't advise you do that as a beginner (read to the end to know why).

3. Affiliate marketing: You may wonder why affiliate marketing? It is because there are some affiliate platforms that teach you some skills we mentioned above and give you the opportunity to practise those skills and make money also as you learn. 4. Blogging: This method could be in two ways: text or video format.

These are a few ways to monetize your skills. But I will advise you must never get ahead of yourself. There is a process to things and you don't skip them. You must be committed, dedicated, disciplined, and consistent with what you do.

In order to earn, you must first learn and take the action required by paying to get a course, take time to watch and implement, develop your mindset, etc.
