Mine was a remote job which happened on Twitter during the pandemic I think. I saw a vacancy for a content creator posted by a foreign tweep. The post asked creatives to DM her. As I did and further introduced myself, "I'm so so, a Nigerian****, the white lady instantly blocked me. Therefore, I quoted the tweet to the brand she works with, and those ones failed to do anything. Since then, I knew that being a Nigerian for any opportunities is a minus one already. https://twitter.com/dee_dorwiz/status/1525009978838466562?s=08

Why not? Countless hits. Got a gig that was worth some thousands of dollars..and it was long-term. Gig wey I burn money to get. First question as to know my country was a turn-off for the white lady. Next question she was asking me was whether I too was a prince who wants to partner with her to sell my inherit property. Adults cry. |
