RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND A CLIENT.

Just like most search engines will say, A Graphic Designer is an individual that appropriate the use of elements (texts, images, colours and shapes) to pass a message. Mostly for other individuals or groups or companies and also for personal uses.

While a Client can be anybody. Anyone who's willing to appreciate and pay for a service. In this case, a Graphic Designer's service.

How's a Graphic Designer related to a Client?
They can only be formally related as business partners. A Client can be a Designer's friend, relative and even spouse.. it's absolutely normal. Just like how a Client can be a total stranger to a Designer.

Regardless of the relationship between them, both of them are aware that they're transacting some kinds of businesses and that can subconsciously lead them to being formal with each other. That too is normal. But we all know, to an extent. Neither of them would want to ruin the bond they share, outside business.

What needs to be understood is the fact that most businesses built on Clients' familiarities don't tend to generate more profits. But then, you're more chanced to earn favors.

Favors and Profits - how's that even related?
You see, Profits are good for business but then, favors enhance the relationship between the Designer and Client. And consecutively, the relationship between the Designer and Client is very essential.

The Client needs to feel that a Designer has the interest in his/her ideas or products or brand aside of the money he/she is offering. That can only be accomplished with a good inter-personal relationship between them.

As a Designer, you need all of the Profits that you can get but don't forget to build that solid relationship with your Clients. Imagine your clients seeing you as their brother/sister.. that'd be more than awesome.

While some people say DO NOT DO FREE JOBS. they're right, business-wise. But then you yourself will get to see that you need to compromise on that in some cases. Most businesses strategist knows that.
