Just like in insemination, the only aim is to get the semen in; either through a syringe, a tube or straight from the preek.
There's no difference between a normally ejaculated baby and an artificially inseminated one.

So as long as he changed the oil filter, you shouldn't be bothered how the new oil got into into the engine.

This guy grin grin I comment my reserve!

Greetings everyone. Please I am writing this with a worried heart. I left my car with my mechanic to change oil and left to buy some other things for the car servicing. Coming back, behold I found my mechanic ( he's boy actually) pouring the engine oil through the dipstick! I almost collapsed. Though I drove the car home with no issues, I'm still very worried. Would this cause any damage to the engine?

Thanks and appreciate your response.

What is the name of the car and model, and mind you, you should go back and congratulations that boy, some boy know work pass master. I swear

Nothing would happen apart from pouring like half of the oil away. Oyinbo provided a wide hole on the engine to make the process faster and easier but KAZEEMs always have a crude way of doing things

That’s a practical example of THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX.

That guy just demonstrated an alternative means of proffering solution incase the usual or conventional doesn’t work.

That guys would be a better president because Nigeria needs a president who can multitask and use unconventional to achieve great success.

The dip stick section is majorly design to check engine oil level although it is channeled into the oil sum (engine oil reservoir). The mechanic boy needs to follow the manufacturer recommendation by pouring the oil through the right channel as long as there is no challenge with regards to that. The truth is the dipstick portion is too narrow to take in the oil, so expect spillage of oil which may get into other components in the engine compartment and also affect the oil level bc of waste. The owner should check for oil spillage around the engine compartment and also ensure the oil level is gauged.

There is no other professional way of draining the old oil except you loose the drain bolt from the sump n take the oil out. I believed the boy did that but when replacing the oil, he decided to pour it through the dipstick section probably he is still learning or he wanted to prove something different

It's the Final Destnation that matters and never the Journey

Why the worry?

There's no thinking outside the box here.

This is people creating issue where there's none.

Oil change: old oil should be drained and oil filter changed. Remove the oil cap and pour in new oil.. do not pour the new oil through the dip stick.

. So long as he removed the old filter and the old oil and put a new filter before pouring the new oil, it's okay.

It's funny but just at that, it's not harmful to your car.
Provided other pre draining and standards followed before the fillings.
But as the owner of the car, i would have expected you to ask questions from the mechanic to allay your fear.

Maybe your engine oil cover is stuck, you must be one of those car owners who changes engine oil once in 5 years.

You should worry more if he did not completely drained the old oil from your car. Next time, stay and watch the process

Your only worry should be if he didn’t waste the oil buy pouring away some bits through the tiny dip hole

Everything makes front page. Like someone said why didnt you ask him why?
Anyway, how did he remove the old oil?
Also, how sure are you it wasn't ATF he was pouring?
Finally, the oil hole is just by the corner there, what mechanic sense does it make to use the wrong hole
