Well, if the birds are allowed to die, then insects like the locust that the birds eat will 'be fruitful and multiply' and all those new locusts that result have to eat...and they will be eating the grains in the field and in the barns......

And those insects that eat plants, since there are no birds to eat them, and keep their population low...will be fruitful and mulitply' and eat all the plants down to the barest minimum

Which means less food for the poor , and more deaths due to starvation.

China in 1958 killed a lot of sparrows because 'they ate a lot of grain' Thus freed from their natural predator, the local Chinese locust multiplied, and all them baby locusts had to be fed.....at the expense of the Chinese people. Millions died.


Every thing has its purpose.
