Three suspects were paraded by the Nigeria Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command on Monday in connection with the murder of Stephanie Terungwa, the Abuja female member of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) who went missing with her 3-year-old child a few weeks ago. CP Sunday Babaji, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, told reporters that the Maitama Division had received information regarding the body of a middle-aged woman lying on the road on April 15. On receiving the information, crime scene investigators (CSI) were quickly dispatched to the area and removed the body to the hospital, where a doctor on duty confirmed her death. He stated the initial attempt to profile the victim's face failed owing to her disfigured face, which he felt was caused by exposure to a corrosive substance. According to the CP, a discreet inquiry revealed that the dead was indeed Stephanie Terungwa, a 26-year-old Corp member who lives with one Edward Achadu in City Homes Estate Lokogoma. He claimed it was discovered on April 14 that she had left home with her three-year-old child and never returned. "The son was found a day later at Holy Trinity Catholic Church after a call was made to one of the Paternal relatives. "Three suspects were arrested after meticulous investigations by Tactical and Intelligence assets of the Command assigned to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID)." He identified the suspects as a 26-year-old woman, a 36-year-old man, and a 35-year-old man, all of whom live in the Oguta Lake area of the FCT," he said. According to Babaji, the suspects plotted and murdered the deceased in order to separate her from Edward Achadu so that Jenifer Tsembe, the female suspect and Edward's estranged lover, could have him all to herself.
